Mrs. Fabiana Fischer, Sixth Grade Counselor
My name is Fabiana Fischer. I am the proud mother of two beautiful girls, Stephanie and Isabella. Stephanie graduated from Dacula High School and is currently at the University of Augusta. Isabella is with us at the middle school. My family is originally from Colombia. I was born in Philadelphia, but I moved to Colombia when I was four years old. I grew up on a farm helping my parents taking care of our animals. I had the best childhood that anyone could have asked for! I moved back to the United States when I finished undergraduate school in 2000. I learned English and then obtained my Master's degree in School Counseling from UGA in 2007. I started working in the Gwinnett County Schools in 2003. I have taught ESOL at Meadowcreek High School and Richards Middle School. I have worked as a counselor at Chesney Elementary and Alcova Elementary. I have been working at Dacula Middle School since 2017. I love working here. We have the best staff in the world, and I am honored to work as the 6th grade counselor in this community.

Ms. Monica Garcia, 8th Grade Counselor
Ms. Garcia is in her fifth year at Dacula Middle serving as our 8th grade counselor. She earned her Master's degree in Professional Shcool Counseling from Georgia State Univeristy where she obtained her Bahelor's degree as well. Middle school is the perfect fit for Ms. Garcia because of her background in advocacy and outreach programs. She chose middle school so she can help students learn to advocate for themselves as well as help families and students deal with a variety of mental health issues. Relationships are a key pillar of Ms. Garcia's counseling philosophy. You will constantly see her listening to and helping staff members and current and former students on a regular basis. She wants the Dacula family to feel safe and supported by the counseling team. In addition to her counseling role, Ms. Garcia volunteers as an Emergency Responses Team member and with the alumni chapter of her sorority. Ms. Garcia and her family are from Colombia, South America, and she visits them there often. In her spare time, you will find her cooking, traveling, snuggling her pup or attending an Atlanta United game.
