  • Rising 10th - 12th Grade Registration Timeline


    It’s time for students to think about courses for the 2021-2022 school year. As students consider which courses they wish to take, they need keep in mind that Norcross High School does yearlong registration. This means students register for the entire 2020-2021 school year this spring. Therefore, students need to make sure they CAREFULLY consider their choices. We hire teachers in the spring based upon the courses students select. Students will have the best chance of being enrolled in the classes they prefer if they request them in January. We are unable to make schedule changes after the drop/add period in early March. “Changing your mind” about taking a course is not a valid reason for a schedule change so please choose wisely and plan ahead.

    A projected timeline for creating student schedules is below. In addition, a variety of other information is available for students and their families. 

    January 7th - 9th

    • NHS Teachers speak with current students about course placements for 2021-2022

    January 12th-15th

    • Advisement Lessons (Rising 10th-12th) about Elective Course Descriptions, Elective Offerings, Course Selection Process and Timeline for Students

    January 19th-22nd

    • Elective Registration for Rising 10th-12th – During 1st period, students will be filling out a form where will rank their top 5 electives in order of preference. This form will be used in case there are student schedule conflicts and/or if classes are full.  We will then go to the student’s 3rd-5th choices, so it is imperative they take the Elective Course Selection form and process seriously since this will ultimately determine their elective courses for the next school year.
    • A screencast will be provided to students with the directions on how to select elective courses
    • Rising 10th-12th grade students will receive their courses for the 2021-2022 school year through StudentVUE.

    Early March

    • Drop/Add for Rising 10th-12th grade students
      Students will receive their High School courses in StudentVUE which will outline all of their courses for the 2021-2022 school year. Students will have one last chance to review their course selections for 2021-2022 and update their courses during this time.  If a change is needed, students should complete the NHS Drop/Add Schedule Request Form, have a parent sign the form and turn the form in to the Counseling Office or submit the form electronically to their counselor no later than March 5th. Forms will be available in the NHS Counseling Office, or you can download the form which is located on the NHS website. Any course requests made after the deadline will not be accepted.

    Early May

    • Rising 10th-12th grade students will receive a final list of courses in StudentVue that students can expect to be on their schedule in the fall. No course changes can be made at this time.
