DLD
  • On a Digital Learning Day, teachers will post assignments on their eCLASS pages. This includes specials teachers as well.

    • Elementary school assignments will be posted by 8:00 AM.

Classroom teachers will be holding live Zoom sessions, hosting small group sessions, and monitoring their eCLASS page throughout the entire school day.  If you or your student have any questions, please type it into the 'Info Request' section or send an email to the teacher. If you have signed up for Class Dojo, you can contact your teacher through that platform as well.

We understand that many of you have siblings, both here at Simonton and at the Middle or High Schools in our area.  With this being said, each student will need to log in to his/her Student Portal/My eCLASS page individually.

    A few Helpful Reminders:

    • Students log-in through the Student Portal and will select their eCLASS account
    • Student User ID = student ID number (this is used for lunch, testing, and in the Media Center)
    • If you forgot your password, please contact your teacher

  • Chromebooks

Those using a Chromebook for Digital Learning Days should add their GCPS G-Suite account as a "New User".  Should you be logged into your Chromebook with a personal Gmail account you may not be able to access all of the needed resouces to complete your Digital Learning activities.

To add a GCPS account to your Chromebook:

    1. Log out all users.  You will need to be on the log in screen.
    2. Select "New User" (some may have the option to "Add Person") at the bottom of the screen
    3. You will be prompted to enter your Google email address.
      • Student G-Suite email addresses are {firstname}.{lastname}{last 4 digits of student ID}@g.gcpsk12.org.
      • Example:  John Doe with a student id of 123987654 would have an email address of john.doe7654@g.gcpsk12.org
      • Please note these email addresses are not able to send and receive emails from outside the domain.
    4. Click "Next"
    5. You wil be presented with the student portal log in screen.  Your student will know the username and password and will be able to log in.

  • Tablets/Ipads/Mobile Devices

Most native components in eCLASS are compatible with Anroid Tablets, i-Pads or mobile devices and should function properly.

Any resource you are directed to outside of eCLASS that contains Adobe Flash will not function on an i-Pad or Android tablet.

    G-Suite (Google Apps):

If you choose to use G-Suite (Google) apps (such as Drive, Docs, Slides, Classroom, etc.) on an Anroid Tablet, i-Pad or other mobile device you will need to download those apps from the Google Play or the Apple App Store.

For this option to work you will also need to add your GCPS G-Suite account to your device.

To add a GCPS account to your mobile device:

    1. Open the account settings or Add an Account option specific to your device and add a Google account.
    2. During the account setup process when prompted to enter your Google email address using the format below.
    3. Continue with the process and you wil be presented with the student portal log in screen.  Your student will know the username and password and will be able to log in.
    4. Once the account is added you will have the option to select your personal Gmail account or your GCPS G-Suite account within each Google App.  Ensure you have selected the GCPS account to have full access to your assignments.

If you use Safari, Firefox, or another browser, check its support site for instructions.

What happens after you clear this info

After you clear cache and cookies:

    • Some settings on sites get deleted. For example, if you were signed in, you’ll need to sign in again.
    • If you turn sync on in Chrome, you’ll stay signed into the Google Account you’re syncing to in order to delete your data across all your devices.
    • Some sites can seem slower because content, like images, needs to load again.

    How cache & cookies work

    • Cookies are files created by sites you visit. They make your online experience easier by saving browsing data.
    • The cache remembers parts of pages, like images, to help them open faster during your next visit.
