    Featured Speakers and Presenters

    Billy Boughey – Elevate Experiences

    Billy is the Founder and President of the Atlanta-based company, Elevate Experiences. His talents include keynote speaking, culture coaching, and consulting groups on how to make their team members smile and their customers rave. 

    His first book titled Culture Reconstructed is a start-where-you-are guide to building a remarkable team dynamic. Billy also hosts his own podcast titled Created for Experience, sharing how experience shapes your future. 

    Billy and his team have emceed the GSLT Summit for many years as well as facilitated learning sessions. After graduating from Berkmar High School, Billy attended Auburn University where he played baseball.

    Dr. Mike Rutherford

    Dr. Mike Rutherford provides high-value training and development experiences for educators and business professionals through his work as a teacher, speaker, author, and consultant. Mike’s work focuses on high-performance teaching and learning, leadership development, creating and leading team-based organizations, and results-based organizational improvement.

    Formerly a high school chemistry teacher, coach, and middle school principal, Mike received his BA in Education from Indiana State University, his MA in Educational Administration from Fayetteville State University, and his Doctor of Education degree from Morehead State University.

    Considered one of the nation’s foremost authorities on adult learning, Dr. Rutherford has worked with GSLT since 2001. He has taught at all previous sixteen summits and has recently designed a new student leadership curriculum for GSLT.

    Dr. Tim Elmore

    Dr. Tim Elmore is the Founder and President of Growing Leaders, a non-profit organization created to develop emerging leaders. He and his team equip secondary school students, college students and recent graduates from thousands of campuses across the US and around the world to think and act like authentic leaders.

    Tim’s expertise on the emerging generation and generational diversity has led to media coverage in The Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes.com, USA Today and The Washington Post. He has also appeared on CNN’s Headline News, and Fox and Friends to discuss Generation iY. Most recently, Kevin Kruse named Tim as one of the Top 100 Leadership Speakers of 2018 in an article for Inc. magazine.

    Tim is the author of more than 30 books, including the best-selling Generation iY: Our Last Chance to Save Their Future, Habitudes®: His latest book, Generation Z Unfiltered, was released in the fall of 2019.

    Sam Bartlett

    William S. (Sam) Bartlett of Galax, Virginia, is an author and a noted authority in the areas of team building, employee engagement, customer service, leadership, and managing conflict while implementing change. He has provided training for thousands of people through public seminars and has provided on-site training for companies such as AT&T, Rockwell, Black & Decker, Johnson & Johnson and Mellon Bank.  Before assuming his current positions as CEO of Sonfire Media and 4sight Learning, Mr. Bartlett was CEO of Digital Juice, an internationally-recognized leader in 3-D animation and interactive media. Mr. Bartlett led the company to a record-breaking 300% growth his first year by focusing on customer service and employee engagement. Under his leadership, Digital Juice was recognized by Florida Trend magazine as one of Florida’s most significant businesses to watch. 

    Katie Bersinger

    Katie has a passion for teaching and leading others. As a Jacksonville-native, her elementary education background taught her how to instruct creatively, while instilling passion in others. She has a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida and loves to create innovative content for adults and students. She is the Chief of Staff at Elevate Experiences and author of her own children's book called Searching for Macy. 

    Dave Carr

    Dave is the High School Pastor at 12Stone Church. A former farm boy from Indiana, he attended Indiana Wesleyan University and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Christian Ministry. Dave has been married to his wife, Shelby, for 3 years. He enjoys Duke basketball, fast WiFi, black coffee, reading biographies, and all things self leadership. 

    Rennie Curran

    Rennie Curran is an internationally acclaimed speaker, author, musician and American football linebacker. He began his career at Brookwood high school in Snellville, GA becoming the all-time leading tackler in Gwinnett County. He went on to excel as a three-time All-American at the University of Georgia. Rivals.com rated him as a four-star recruit and listed him as the No. 11 inside linebacker prospect in the nation.  He was selected in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, spent some time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012 and joined the Edmonton Eskimos in 2013, racking up a whopping 70 tackles in the 2013 season. A multiple award winning professional athlete, motivational speaker and author, Rennie Curran is a member of the National Speakers Association and has several years of experience in counseling and guiding individuals.

    Brandt Grauss

    Brandt Grauss is a product of Georgia, hailing from Alpharetta, GA. He graduated from Alpharetta High School, and continued his education at Liberty University where he played men's lacrosse for four years. He is currently a student pastor at 12Stone Church and a lacrosse coach at Buford High School. Brandt gets to lead students and adult volunteers every week, and it's one of his favorite things in life. Brandt has been married for three years to his wife Cassidy, he loves Lord of the Rings (the books and movies), and he once ate 24 hard shell taco bell tacos in one sitting.

    Joe Iarocci

    Joe Iarocci: Joe founded Cairnway after serving as CEO of the Robert K. Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. Before joining the Greenleaf Center, Joe spent thirteen years with CARE USA, one of the world’s largest international nongovernmental organizations dedicated to ending extreme poverty. Joe served CARE as General Counsel, Chief Financial Officer and Chief of Staff. Joe practiced business law prior to joining CARE, representing individual entrepreneurs as well as multinational corporations. Joe currently serves on the boards of Social Accountability International, the Georgia Center for Nonprofits and the Foundation Center-Atlanta. Joe is uniquely passionate about spreading awareness and increasing implementation of servant leadership practices organizations and individuals.

    Collin Jones

    Collin Jones is from Suwanee, and is a product of Gwinnett County Public Schools, having attended B.B. Harris Elementary, Lanier Middle, and North Gwinnett High School (2008 graduate). During high school, Collin participated in GSLT and helped create the North Gwinnett Student Leadership Team that still exists today. After graduating from North Gwinnett, Collin attended Harvard University where he pursued a degree in the comparative Study of Religion with a secondary concentration in Psychology. In 2012, he graduated from Harvard with honors. Collin is currently a teacher at Lanier High School where he has twice been honored as STAR teacher. He continues to contribute to the development of student leaders in Gwinnett County by serving as the GSLT adviser at Lanier.

    Jake Kelfer

    Jake Kelfer is the bestselling author of Elevate Beyond and Elevate Your Network…and a lifestyle entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Professional Basketball Combine which features NBA draft prospects in a secondary draft combine. As a high energy inspirational speaker, he is on a mission to elevate and motivate millions of people to achieve their definition of success. He and his work have been featured on Forbes, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NBC Sports, USA Today, Bleacher Report, and many other media outlets.

    Debra Lassiter

    Ms. Lassiter founded an etiquette and social dance program in 1985 out of a desire and commitment to make respect and courtesy the standard for young people in northeast Georgia. Today that program has more than 1,250 currently enrolled students, and thousands of graduates.Ms. Lassiter also brings a special focus on working with high school and college students. Using the University of Georgia as proving ground for the E&LI programs, she is an expert in the business etiquette field. She currently presents and facilitates business etiquette programs for corporations and state organizations. 

    Jeremy Muyres

    Jeremy is a teacher and coach at Peachtree Ridge High School. He is a graduate of Parkview High School and the Georgia Institute of Technology where he played football for the Yellow Jackets.

    Jeremy currently lives in Buford and has a two-year-old son, Kellan. He enjoys hanging out with his family, traveling, and anything involving competition. 

    Dr. Ginger O’Neal

    Dr. Ginger O’Neal has been an educator for over 26 years.  She holds a Ph.D. is in leadership. Ginger has been a classroom teacher, a principal of a private school, a college professor, and an associate superintendent in a private school system.  She has been an assistant principal at Gwinnett Online Campus since 2011. For 10 years, she wrote and produced documentary films on humanitarian work around the world.  Ginger has traveled in 69 countries visiting every continent with the exception of Antarctica and every state except Alaska.  She has visited some of the most remote places on earth.  These experiences have shaped her as an educational leader and she enjoys sharing leadership lessons from her travels.      

    Brad Scarberry

    Brad is a husband, father, and student Pastor at 12Stone Church for middle and high school students. He graduated from Mill Creek High school in 2010 and went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Business in 2016. Brad has been working in the church for 5 years now and is passionate about pouring his energy into the next generation. Outside of work, he enjoys the lake, time with his family, golfing, and College GameDay.
