- Overview
-
Safety is our first priority while transporting students. Visit the Transportation pages on the GCPS website for videos, important information, frequently asked questions, and forms from the Transportation Department.
Please follow the guidelines below to help our Lilburn ES students arrive and depart from school safely.
-
Riding a GCPS bus is a student privilege, not a right. While on the school bus, the bus driver/manager is the school official who has the supervisory responsibility of the students. Drivers must be able to concentrate on their driving at all times. A momentary distraction can lead to a serious accident resulting in injury or death. The safety and well-being of each student depend on everyone following the standards of conduct. No student shall cause or attempt to cause (either directly or indirectly) a disruption or interference with a school bus by any means. Failure to follow the School Bus Rules (written in English and Spanish) will result in consequences ranging from an administrative conference to forfeiting bus riding privileges.
If you have concerns about a bus stop, student behaviors, or a bus driver, please contact the Transportation Supervisor. When calling/emailing the Transportation Supervisor please include the school's name, child's name, and the reason for your call/email.
