    2024-2025 Registration Dates

    • January 8, 2024: Application opens
    • February 20, 2024: Open House 5:00-7:00pm
    • In late February the Maxwell Program Application (located on My eCLASS through the student portal) will temporarily close in preparation for the lottery in early March.  The application will then reopen for programs with availability. 
    • Students will be notified via their GCPS email address of their placement for next year once the lottery has ended. 

    Annual Timeline:

    • Application site will be open January - August.
    • Lottery occurs in early March
      • Programs that have more applications than spots available will be entered into a Lottery Program. 
    • Students will be notified of their acceptance/placement shortly after the lottery has concluded.

    Successful completion of all pathway courses first semester is required for second semester attendance.

  • Who Can Apply to Maxwell?

    GCPS Academy High School Students

    At the time of application:

    • be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior enrolled in a GCPS Academy high school with a minimum of 4 credits

    At the time you start Maxwell:

    • have a minimum of 7 credits, including 1 unit each of language arts, mathematics, and science and,
    • be on track for graduation from high school.

    GCPS Non-Academy High School Students

    At the time of application:

    • be a current sophomore or junior, enrolled in a GCPS non-Academy high school with a minimum of 8 credits 

    At the time you start Maxwell:

    • have a minimum of 11 credits, including 2 units of language arts, mathematics, and science, and 
    • be on track for graduation from high school.

  • What credits do I earn at Maxwell?

    Students from all GCPS high schools may obtain three concentrated units of credit in a CTAE Pathway by successfully completing a Maxwell program.

    In addition, Maxwell offers embedded academic courses for graduation credit in language arts, math and science. All Maxwell programs offer Board of Regents (BOR) credit in one of the academic areas of language arts, math or science.

    Successful completion of all pathway courses first semester is required for second semester attendance.
