Positive Behavior Intervention and Support
The mission of the Five Forks Middle school PBIS Team is to foster and promote a safe and inclusive school environment by consistently teaching and modeling clear expectations for student behavior. This will result in a positive school culture and climate for all stakeholders.
Five Forks PBIS Expectations Lessons:At the beginning of each school year students are taught our expectations through a series of lessons. Please check back soon to view the lessons that students will receive in August.
Five Forks PBIS Acknowledgements:Students at FFMS are acknowledged for their positive behavior in a variety of ways. Teachers use positive feedback and rewards that are specific to their classroom, check with your student's teachers to see what specific ways they acknowledge students.
As a school, FFMS acknowledges students in the following ways:
- Bronco Bucks and Bronco Store - ON HOLD DUE TO COVID- Students have a section in their agenda book where they can earn Bronco Bucks. Any staff member who notices a student displaying one of our C.A.R.E. expectations can sign a square in that student's agenda book. Students can then cash in those Bronco Bucks in our Bronco Store for candy, school supplies, and many other awesome prizes!
- Positive Behavior Referrals - Students who display our C.A.R.E. expectations can also be awarded a Positive Behavior Referral. These Referrals are submitted by a teacher and processed by an administrator. We post this awesome award on our Social Media pages to recognize these students.
Bronco Bravos - Teachers can fill out a postcard to acknowledge a student's progress and achievement for behavior and send it home in the form of a Bronco Bravo. Teachers may also send home positive e-mails about a student with the subject line Bronco Bravos.
- Blazin' Bronco Award- One student is chosen each month as the homeroom teacher's student of the month. This student is one that goes above and beyond the normal expetations. The student is recognized with their picture and a write up of why they were chosen that is placed in the front hallway. They also attend a Blazin' Bronco breakfast as well as receive a special certificate to acknowlege their nomination. There is only one student per homeroom chosen for this accomplishment each month.
