Teacher Recruitment Incentive Programs

  • At its June 17, 2021 meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education announced its support for the

    GCPS Recruitment Incentive Program, to attractTwo educators above Shine in GCPS the best, brightest, and most qualified teaching candidates to GCPS!

     

     

    To earn the full incentive, newly hired teachers for the designated positions must: 
    - Be hired June 7, 2021, or after;
    - Be hired for the 2021-22 school year (and not previously hired for a full or partial year);
    - Complete the 2021-22 school year; and
    - Sign a contract for the 2022-23 year.

     Important Note: Should the employee be terminated by Gwinnett County Public Schools for Cause prior to the one-year anniversary of the start date, or in the event that the employee resigns prior to the one-year anniversary of the start date without an approved reason (family move, illness, etc.), the employee may be obligated to repay Gwinnett County Public Schools the amount of such incentive previously paid to employee no later than 30 days following the date of termination or resignation.

     

  • Special Education Teacher Incentive (IRR, SLD, Mild ID, ASD-IV, SDD, Pre-K): $4,000

    (Special Education Programs- IRR, SLD, SDD, Mild ID, ASD-IV, Pre-K)

    The Employee shall be paid an incentive in the amount of Four-Thousand Dollars ($4,000) for teaching in a special education classroom in Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2021-22 school year and signing a contract for a second year of teaching (2022-23) in a Special Education classroom.  Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):       

       December 2021 check: $ 2,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year (May 2022 check): $ 2,000

  • Special Education Teacher Incentive (ASD-I, ASD-II, ASD-III, DHH, EBD, OI, VI, SID/PID, MOID): $5,000

    (Special Education Programs- ASD-I, ASD-II, ASD-III, DHH, EBD, OI, VI, SID/PID, MOID)

    The Employee shall be paid an incentive in the amount of Five-Thousand Dollars ($5000) for teaching in a special education classroom in Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2021-22 school year and signing a contract for a second year of teaching (2022-2023) in a special education classroom. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):     

       December 2021 check: $ 3,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year (May 2022 check): $ 2,000

     

     

  • Speech Language Pathologist Incentive: $4,000

    The Employee shall be paid an incentive in the amount of Four-Thousand Dollars ($4,000) for serving as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2021-22 school year and signing a contract for a second year (2022-23) as a Speech Language Pathologist. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):

       December 2021 check: $ 2,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year (May 2022 check): $ 2,000

  • Math/Science Teacher Incentive: $4,000

    The Employee shall be paid an incentive in the amount of Four-Thousand Dollars ($4,000) for teaching in a Math or Science classroom in Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2021-22 school year and signing a contract for a second year of teaching (2022-23) in a Math or Science classroom. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):     

       December 2021 check: $ 2,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year (May 2022 check): $ 2,000

  • Computer Science/Engineering Teacher Incentive: $4,000

    The Employee shall be paid an incentive in the amount of Four-Thousand Dollars ($4,000) for teaching in a Computer Science or Engineering classroom in Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2021-22 school year and signing a contract for a second year of teaching (2022-23) in a Computer Science or Engineering classroom. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):     

       December 2021 check: $ 2,000
       Upon signing contract for 2022-23 School Year (May 2022 check): $ 2,000

  • Special Education Paraprofessional Incentive: $1,500

    (All Special Education Programs)

    The Employee shall be paid an incentive in the amount of One Thousand Five-Hundred dollars ($1,500) for serving as a Special Education Paraprofessional in Gwinnett County Public Schools. Employee will receive the bonus on the schedule noted below (less applicable withholdings and deductions):       

       December 2021 check: $ 750
       May 2022 check: $ 750
