Hello Future Pinckneyville Middle School Students! If you select one of these year-long Connections classes, please remember that Band, Chorus, and Orchestra require a financial obligation to participate. Consider the cost of instrument rental, supply fees, uniform costs, etc. While no child will be turned away from any music program due to financial reasons, both parents and students need to understand the commitment needed to participate in these year-long classes.
By the way, YOU DO NOT NEED ANY PRIOR MUSICAL EXPERIENCE to be part of our programs. We will teach you everything that you need to know about playing an instrument, singing, reading music and working as a team. You will have a great time and make life-long friends! We hope you consider joining us next year.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

Band Website
This is the class you would choose if you want to learn how to play a brass or woodwind instrument (i.e., trumpet, flute, clarinet). You may audition to play percussion (drums and mallets) at the end of the 1st semester. Everybody must start on a woodwind or brass instrument first. You will need to rent an instrument. You can rent an instrument from a local music store, or you can rent one from the school. If you rent from the school, your choice of instruments may be limited, but you will be assigned an instrument that you will have fun playing! Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba: Band Fees are $65.00 Be a Part of the Band.

Orchestra Website
Orchestra is a performance-oriented class in which students learn the skills to play a string instrument. Each student will learn to perform individually and in a group for audiences large and small. Emphasis will be on confidence, musicality, practice skills, and performance etiquette.
