  • Prom Guidelines

    Please review the rules below that are in place for Junior-Senior Prom at The Bowl at Downtown Sugar Hill on Saturday, April 24th, 2021. Please be sure you understand them and are aware of the consequences if you do not abide by them.

    1. Face masks must be worn at all times during Prom. Students must social distance while they are at the event. Students will also be asked to not congregate in groups of more than ten.
    2. Covid-19 Rules: Do not attend this event if you are sick or have Covid -19 symptoms, have been diagnosed with Covid-19 within 10 days (April 14th) prior to prom, are awaiting a Covid-19 test result, or have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
    3. Photo ID (Driver’s License, School ID, Learners Permit, etc) will be required upon check-in.
    4. Prom will end promptly at 10:00 pm. You must have a ride at The Bowl by 10:00 pm. Student pick up and drop off will be on Temple Road.
    5. Suggestive or inappropriate dancing will not be allowed at all. This is a school-sponsored event. Please understand you WILL be asked to leave if you cannot dance appropriately.
    6. No excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.
    7. Gentlemen—jackets and ties are required. Shirts must be worn at all times.
    8. No glow sticks or open containers of any kind will be allowed.
    9. This is a school-sponsored event; therefore, all GCPS and Lanier High School rules apply.
    10. Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, April 23, 2021, in order to be able to attend Prom on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
    11. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.
    12. Lanier High School students who are planning to bring a date that does not attend Lanier High School to the dance are responsible for sharing this information with their date.

    Ensure that you have read through the above guidelines and discussed them with your parents. A sign off will be required prior to ticket pick up.

    I understand that I must follow all of the above rules or I could be asked to leave the Prom.

  • General Information

    Who can attend the prom?
    Prom is a dance for any junior or senior who has purchased a prom ticket on My Payments Plus. Juniors must pay junior dues. Seniors should purchase a ticket on My Payments Plus. Guest tickets can be purchased on My Payments Plus as well

    When is the dance?
    The dance is Saturday, April 24th from 7-10 pm. The prom will end promptly at 10:00 pm. You must have a ride at Downtown Sugar Hill to pick you up no later than 10:00 pm.

    Where is the dance?
    Prom will be held at The Bowl at Downtown Sugar Hill.

    What can I use for a photo ID at check-in?
    You can use a school ID (this year or last year), Driver’s License, or Learner’s Permit. If you don’t have one of these, go to the media center to get them to print your picture ID.

  • Tickets

    How much are tickets?
    $75 for juniors (secures a ticket for junior and senior yeara)

    $50 for seniors

    $50 for guests

    What if my date does not attend a Gwinnett County Public School?
    Non-GCPS dates need to complete a permission form. Current high school students need to get parent signatures. Forms are due at the time of ticket pick up.. Forms can be found on MyPaymentsPlus when you purchase your date ticket or at the front office.

    Where do I buy a ticket?
    On MyPaymentsPlus until April 20th

    What is the last date to buy a prom ticket?
    The last day to pay is April 20th on MyPaymentsPlus.

    When do I pick up my ticket?

    All ticket pick up will be Monday April 19th-Thursday April 22nd. Tickets can be picked up before school or during lunch. On Tuesday April 20th, tickets can be picked up between 9 and 11 AM in the parking lot behind the commons. You must pay off all student fines before picking up your ticket. There will be no ticket purchases after the 20th and no ticket pick ups on the 23rd or 24th.

  • Prom Court

    How can I nominate someone for Prom Court?
    Nominations will be made on the Junior and Senior eClass pages the week of April 12-15.

     

    When do we vote?
    Voting will take place on the Junior Class and Senior Class eCLASS pages from April 19-21. The winners will be announced at the dance around 9:30 pm.

     

    How will I know if I am on the prom court?
    The top 3 nominees will be notified by Friday, April 16th.

  • Dance Behavior and Dress Code

    What is the dress code?
    Ladies - no excessively revealing (front and/or back) or short dresses will be allowed. If you think your dress is in violation of this dress code, please bring a picture with you wearing the dress to an administrator’s office.

    Gentlemen - jackets and ties are required. Shirts must be worn at all times. 

    Students in violation of this WILL be asked to leave.

    What is the attendance policy?
    Students must be present for half the school day on Friday, April 23rd in order to be able to attend the dance on Saturday, April 24th. There will be an attendance roster at the door to check this information. Students who are suspended or expelled during this time are not allowed to attend any GCPS school function, including Prom.

  • Parking and Tickets

    How much is parking?
    Parking is free at Downtown Sugar Hill. More specific parking information will be provided soon.

  • Prom Space

    What areas of The Bowl can we use at Prom?
    Students will have access to The Bowl and plaza area. Students will not be able to access the parking garages, restaurant area, or behind the fountain. Once students leave, they will not be allowed to re-enter.
