• Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year!

Dear Gwinnett County Public Schools Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year at Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS)! Whether you are a returning student, a first-time student, or just moved to Gwinnett County, we are excited to welcome you to GCPS.

I hope you have the opportunity to rest, enjoy family and friends this summer, and that you are ready for a terrific school year full of learning and connections.

The 2022-23 Handbook Information for Students & Families is being provided virtually this year due to supply chain issues. These web pages contain critical information to support student and family success throughout the school year. This information has been updated to align with our new strategic plan and changes in state and federal laws that impact our school system.

Please note our handbook information has been updated as of September 9, 2022, to reflect the Board's Theory of Action for Change to Improve Student Behavior and Outcomes policy adopted by our Board of Education on August 18, 2022.

Please note our handbook information has been updated as of January 9, 2023, to reflect the Midcourse Corrections to the Implementation of Policy JCDI recommended by the GCPS Discipline Task Force.

We look forward to a great year, and the best way to accomplish this is by working together. Please review the information provided to you on our website, through emails and newsletters sent home from the district and school, and contact your student's teacher or principal when you have questions or concerns.

    In partnership and service,

    Dr. Calvin J. Watts

    Superintendent
