Morning Club Opportunities

Advanced Chorus
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meetings: Tuesdays at 7:00-7:45am (9/6 - 3/29)
Sponsor: Mrs. Alexander
Students will learn sight singing on movable "Do", Curwen hand signs, solfege, and how to use your singing voice in preparation for Middle School Chorus. Repertoire for this group ranges from pop music, classical, and world music. Majority of the songs include movement and dance. This group performs during the winter and spring concert and other school performances as they arise. This group prepares students for the Large Group Performance Ensemble (LGPE) auditions for the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).
Students who are committed and dedicated in working hard will get the opportunity to apply to perform and participate at the GMEA Elementary All State Chorus and the GCPS Elementary Honor Chorus. CES Chorus requires commitment and hard work.
There will be afternoon rehearsals close to performance dates.

Art Club
Grade(s): 5th Grade Only
Meetings: Tuesdays at 7:05-7:45am (9/20 - 11/29)
Sponsor: Mrs. Fleishel
This club provides students in 5th grade with an opportunity for creative exploration and artistic expression. Students will be exposed to a variety of art materials. Some of the exciting projects may include clay vases, handmade books, or printmaking. Students should be creative, independent, willing to try and experiment with new things, and most of all love ART!

Chattahoochee Children's Chorus
Grade(s): 2nd and 3rd Grade
Meetings: Mondays at 7:00-7:45 (8/29 - 3/29)

The Chattahoochee Advanced Chorus is made up of 2nd and 3rd grade students. This special group performs periodically throughout the year. The group usually performs during the Fall and Spring, assembly programs, anthem projects at the Gladiators, Georgia Swarm, mini concerts in the school atrium, and other special events and occasions as they arise. Students will have the opportunity to experience playing different instruments as an accompaniment to the songs they will be learning, such as ukulele, recorder, xylophones, and other percussion instruments. If you love to sing, this is the right club for you! Hurry and request an application form now!

Fitness Club
Grade(s): 5th Grade Only
Meeting: Fridays, 7:05-7:45am (9/23 - 11/18)
Sponsors: Coach Grimes and Coach Podo
Each week, 5th grade students will meet in the gym where we will do a variety of activities, including sports games to improve in all areas of fitness. The idea of the Chattahoochee Fitness Club is to improve knowledge and skills and encourage students to be active in the future.

Harry Potter Club
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meetings: Wednedays at 7:05-7:45am (10/12 - 4/12)
Sponsors: Mrs. Richards, Ms. Wilkerson, Ms. Burns, and Mrs. Rhea
Students will meet on Wednesday mornings to engage in various Harry Potter-themed activities. The purpose of the club is to get excited about reading, build relationships, and explore the imagination! Join us for a magical experience!
There is a $10 membership fee for each student to contribute to our club fund.

Modern Band
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meetings: Thursdays at 7:00-7:45 (9/15 - 3/29)
Sponsor: Mrs. Alexander
This is a small group and requires commitment and dedication. This special group rehearses on Thursday mornings from 7:00-7:45 AM beginning September 22, 2022, and performs periodically throughout the year. The group usually performs during the Fall and Spring, assembly programs, mini concerts in the school atrium, and other special events and occasions as they arise. Focus instruments: percussion instruments, electric guitar, bass guitar, drum set, vocals, and keyboard. Focus music: pop and modern music.

Recorder Club

If you wish to strengthen your skills to be a part of an award-winning band in middle school and high school, this is the group for you! This group offers basic to intermediate skills in note reading and rhythmic skills. We will explore music from classical, folk, and pop music, even jazz!

Ukulele/Guitar Club
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meetings: Fridays at 7:00-7:45am (9/16 - 3/29)

If you wish to learn to accompany yourself while singing a simple or even a challenging song, this is a group you might want to consider. We will learn basic chords that will allow you to play thousands of songs in no time. Dedication and commitment are required in order to have lots of fun!

Chapter Cats
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meetings: Every Other Tuesday, 3:05-4:00pm (10/4 - 4/11)
Sponsors: Mrs. Richards, Ms. Wilkerson, and Ms. Kennedy
Students will meet every other Tuesday after school to discuss a book with their peers and participate in activities related to the book. The purpose of the book club is to become more passionate about reading and share thinking with others. Come get excited about reading with us!

Chattahoochee Robotics Team
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meetings: Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:30
Sponsor: Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Simpson
Our CES Robotics Team is a competitive group of students who participate in FLL. During the season, teams are given a FIRST LEGO League Challenge. The teams will choose and solve real-world problems in the project. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under the FIRST LEGO League's signature set of core values celebrating discovery, teamwork, and gracious professionalism.

Drama Club

The Theatre Arts play a significant and essential role in ensuring a well-rounded education. Our goal for the drama club is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students to be themselves, to make new friends, to explore new worlds, and to create performative art as an ensemble. During the spring semester, students will learn about the different aspects of theatre, including history, improv, acting techniques, costume design, and more.
There is a $10 membership fee for each student to contribute to our drama club fund.

Good News Club is an exciting, fun-filled hour and a half once-weekly club that includes:

Reader's Rally
Grade(s): 4th and 5th Grade
Meeting: One Friday per Month
Sponsors: Mrs. Ambekar
Students will read and discuss books from a county-selected list of 15 books. Other activities will include book reviews, book trailers, and quiz bowl games.
