I am a 1994 graduate of Valdosta State University and Brenau University. I have an (EDS) Education Specialist degree in Middle Grades Math and Science as well as School Leadership. I have been teaching for 23 years, and I became a teacher simply because my mother was a teacher for over 30 plus years. I learned very early in life the value of education and the abundance of opportunity that comes with being educated, so naturally I chose a career path to teach others. My favorite subject is Math, and I have always done well in Math throughout school and college. I love to curl up to a good book series and read uninterrupted for days. My favorite childhood book is Ferdinand the Bull. This was the book that my mom would read to me as a little girl.

My name is Charitza Torres. I was born in New Jersey but raised in the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico. I’m blessed to have 4 wonderful children and 4 beautiful grandkids. All of my children have attended and graduated from the Meadowcreek Cluster. I began working for Gwinnett County Public School in the year of 2010 as a clerk in Benefield Elementary and was promoted to be the School Administrator Management (SAM) to Dr. Walker. Then in 2014, I became the Parent Outreach Liaison (POL) for Nesbit Elementary. My favorite part of being the Parent Outreach Liaison is being able to work with our parents and empowering them to be self-sufficient.
