Title I Information & Contacts

  • Invitation to Parent Advisory Committee

Title I is a federal funded program resulting from the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. It is designed to help all students get a good education and meet academic standards. All students are held to the same high standards. GIVE East's school wide Title I program offers services and programs that help improve the education of all students. GIVE East receives thousands of Title I dollars which is used to pay for the following:

    • Purchasing materials and resources for the Parent Center
    • Learning Experience
    • Purchasing technology for the classrooms
    • Staff development
    • Purchasing consumable and non-consumable teaching materials

All decisions regarding the Title I Program are made by the Title I Committee. This committee is comprised of GIVE East parents, teachers, administrators, the Parent Coordinator, and community members. Committee members help decide which topics are offered at our Parent Workshops, how the Title I funds should be spent, what materials should be purchased for the Parent Center, writing, revising, and approving Title I Documents, and help analyze data based on our end-of-the-year parent surveys.

Parents are welcome to come and visit our Parent Center which is located in the Media Center.  Enter through the main entrance and you will be directed to our new office. A hardcopy all the Title 1 Documents for the School Wide Plan may also be found in the Parent Center.  Please view our Title 1 documents on the left.

Parents Right To Know:   Parents have the right to request information about the degree and qualifications of their child’s teacher(s) and paraprofessional(s), if applicable.  This document is provided to parents via the GCPS Parent Handbook.
