Ms. Alina Ruiz

Hello! My name is Alina Ruiz. Previously, I had a career in wildlife biology doing herpetology research (reptiles and amphibians). My thesis research was published in 2010 in the Journal of Environmental Science and Technology and is titled “Patterns of development and abnormalities among tadpoles in a constructed wetland receiving treated wastewater.” Throughout my career as a wildlife biologist, I worked closely with school children to increase awareness about our Earth’s natural resources and what they can do to help the Earth. I also worked as an environmental educator at Stone Mountain Park’s Environmental and Historical Education Center for about 4 years. Teaching children and helping others (including our furry, feathered, and scaly friends) is my passion!

I LOVE to play soccer and I LOVE to be surrounded by nature whether it is taking care of my wildflower garden at home or searching for critters in the woods, non-venomous ones, that is :)
