    Wednesday Morning Clubs 

    September 9

    7:30-8:20

    Students are permitted to enter the rear lobby of our school beginning at 7:15 A.M.  On Wednesdays only if they are participants of a specific club supervised by staff.  


    There is no supervision for students prior to 7:15 A.M. which is a safety concern.  Please help us maintain a safe environment for your child by only utilizing the car rider lane located in the rear of our school campus to drop off students for clubs.

     

    Wednesday Afternoon Clubs 

    Begins September 11
    3:45-4:45

    Students are permitted to exit the rear lobby of our school beginning at 4:45P.M.  Students in all clubs will meet at the car rider lane and we will dismiss similar to car rider dismissal at the end of the school day. You will be given a car tag that identifies the student you are picking up. Please, have it visible in your front windshield so that we may dismiss quickly and safely. 

    Please help us maintain a safe environment for your child by only utilizing the car rider lane located in the rear of our school campus to pick up students for clubs, unless otherwise directed. We ask that for student safety you stay in your car and proceed through the line. 

    There will be a late pickup fee of $5 for every 15 minutes that a student  is not picked up on time.  This fee is payable before the student returns to the club. Students that are picked up late on a continual basis may be dismissed from clubs. 

    Thursday Morning Clubs

    Begins September 12
    7:30-8:20

    CLUBS WILL NOT MEET ON EARLY RELEASE DAYS OR HALLOWEEN. 

    Discipline Agreement
    Children will be required to act in a respectful and responsible manner at all times, in the same manner as is expected of them in school. 

    Our policy is designed to protect the rights and safety of all children.  All students are required to follow the Twelve Rules of Student Conduct for Elementary Schools.  Please refer to the GCPS Student Handbook for more details.

  • Art and Drawing

    You’ll have the chance to draw and paint in different ways, using a variety of mediums. Learn how to draw the things that may seem challenging to render. All you need is your positive attitude.

  • LES Dance Club

    CGHS Dance Students


    LES Dance Club will be headed by Central Gwinnett Dance Honor Society Students. Our high school students will lead student though traditional jazz class warm up, and teach diverse movements including but not limited to jazz, hip hop, K-pop, African, and Latin dances. Central Dance strives to enrich the dance community in our cluster through practice and performance.

  • STEM Club

    Limited to 25 students

    Students will engage in the engineering and design process. Students will learn to use code to manipulate robots through mazes of their own design. This club is sponsored by Scouts of America and will include both boys and girls in grades 3-5. There are no membership fees.

  • Little Kids Rock

    Limited to 40 students

    In Little Kids Rock , students will work together as a team to learn to play  Modern Band instruments. This includes Voice, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, and Percussion. Due to the commitments needed outside of the school day, This group  is by invitation only.



  • LES Knight Chorus

    The LES Knight Singers is a choral ensemble that provides students with opportunities to showcase their group vocal talents and movement skills.  Each interested student is auditioned in a process involving pitch matching, range exercises, and harmonic signing.  All participating students must turn in a Chorus Handbook Student/Parent Contract (will be given at first meeting).  *Meets all year*

  • Robotics Team (Invitation Only)

    First Lego League Robotics club students will build models using LEGO Education WeDo2 and create ‘Show Me” posters to present what they learned. The program focuses on building interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through a real world challenge– to be solved by research, critical thinking, and imagination  Students will be selected on an invitation only basis.

    Limited to 15 students.

    Students will come to school and start their day with a healthy bout of exercise, fitness, and fun! Students will participate in team building games that they will take back and build community with their classrooms. We will also discuss topics such as healthy eating, aerobic activities and how to compete individually and with team sports.

    The LES Soccer Club will promote fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork, and work ethic through the game of soccer.  Focus will be given to the development of technical skills through fun, game-like activities.  Rules of the game will also be taught through daily, small-sided games.

  • Get Ready to Learn Movement

    Get Ready To Learn Movement is a researched classroom movement curriculum designed to optimize classroom performance. Introduced into NYC Schools in 2008 the program is currently used in schools around the US and Europe for students of all ages.

    Our job is to create leaders in the Lawrenceville Community by instilling pride in our school. The students who join The LES Ambassador Service club will do service projects to help improve our School.

  • Cheer/Step Squad

    This is a highly interactive and engaging mixture of cheerleading and stepping that will have students moving to a rhythmic beat. In this club, students will be learning chants, cheers, jumps, and basic step choreography. Students will learn the core values of teamwork and commitment as they work together to learn different cheer and step choreography.

    Building Up Leaders is a club that focuses on the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the child. Our club is a mentorship club with students recommended by our teachers. Our goal is to challenge and nurture the student’s thinking. We focus on various topics such as: Critical-Thinking skills, Conflict Resolution Skills, Self-Awareness, Positive Self-Image, Study Skills, and Emotional Control Skills. Participants are selected by teacher nomination.

    Jr. Beta Club

    The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the ideals of honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students; to reward meritorious academic achievement; and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.  Students receive invitation to join Jr. Beta Club based on academic achievement. 

    A.T.L.A.S

    Sponsors: Will Lewis, Jasmine Jeffries, Nicholas Gilmore
    (Alliance To Lead & Serve) members will serve as student ambassadors for LES. ATLAS is a leadership development program that focuses on educational and social guidance of LES students in grades 4th-5th.  The nucleus and primary focus of the ATLAS program revolves around “5 Phases” which are: Self-Identity, Branding, Competition, Social, & Leadership. (Leadership Application Required to Join)  

    Student Council

    The mission of the LES Student Council will be to build responsible college-ready leaders within our school community and promote the values that represent good character in all students.  Student Council Ambassadors, who will be nominated and go through a school-wide election process, will learn the following:  

    • Lead by example in our classrooms and community by being respectful, responsible, and safe
    • Serve as a source of communication between the students and faculty of the school
    • Encourage our friends and classmates in their education 
    • Help others in the community

  • Basketball Club

    Limit of 20 students

    Our goal is to teach, develop and offer 2nd-5th graders the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, team work, discipline, respect and sportsmanship. Dismissal in the FRONT bus lane at 5:00pm
