    Art Club will be exploring a variety of mediums and creating artwork in various processes of artmaking. Art club will be offered to different grade levels during different sessions this year. The first 16 applicants will be accepted for each session. There will be a $3 art club fee for cover materials.

    Best Buddies is Ivy Creek’s Leadership Club for students in 4th and 5th grade. We will discuss positive ways to exhibit leadership qualities at Ivy Creek and in life. We will learn pertinent character traits that are necessary in becoming a successful leader. To help fulfill our mission, club members will be “Best Buddies” with ICES students with special needs. These will be lifelong lessons that will carry our students through life. The club size is limited to the first 20 applicants.

Students will use computer-based applications to increase their knowledge of programming through puzzles, storytelling, game creation, and more! Fall Code Club is for students in 3rd- 5th grade.     The Environmental/Care Club is a school sponsored club for 4th and 5th grade students. Students will make a difference for our earth and for people in our community. Children in the club will help with school recycling, educate the school on environmental concerns, work in the school garden, and send cards to people in need.  Club limit is 15 students.

  • FLL Robotics Competition Team

    FLL Robotics Competition Team:  ONLY 8 SPOTS AVAILABLE

    Open to 3rd and 4th-grade students who have all As and Bs in reading, writing, and math for the current school year and all E's in conduct.  FLL Robotics is a competition team that focuses on real-world problems and computer programming of autonomous robots.  Students work as a team to research, design, and create a solution to a problem that is focused on the current year's challenge (theme).  Students will also design and program LEGO Spike Prime robots to complete tasks and compete in a tournament(s) held on Saturday(s) in December and January to share their projects, complete teamwork challenges, and showcase their robot’s performance.  Applications are due March 18, 2022.

    Dates/Times:  Tuesdays 3:15-4:15 PM beginning in April and adding Fridays 7:15-8:15 AM beginning in August

  • Jump Rope Club

    The Jump Rope Club is a club for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. While in Jump Rope Club, students will work on a variety of jump rope skills using different types of jump ropes (long jump ropes, short jump ropes, and elastic jump ropes). This club will meet in the mornings from 7:15-7:45am. Meetings will be once a month.

    We are no longer accepting applications for this club.

    Library Club is for 3rd and 4th grade students. A limited number of students will be selected based on an application and teacher recommendation.  Students will perform a variety of tasks including shelving books, making deliveries, light cleaning, and assisting other students. Helpers meet one day per week during the school day for 20 minutes according to teacher and student schedules, typically during recess and once a month on Monday afternoons.  Exceptional behavior is required of all media helpers. 

    Meeting Time: Weekly during recess and 3:15-4:15 PM

    The Mindful Cubs Club is a school-sponsored club where students in grades 1st- 5th practice mindfulness and yoga. Our goal is to start a school day with a calm and peaceful body and mind. Mindful Cubs is for students in 1st-5th grade and there is a limit of 30 students.

    News Crew is for 5th grade students. A limited number of students are selected to participate based on application and teacher recommendations. The selected students will work in teams to broadcast Ivy Creek's morning news program, "Live on 5". Jobs include anchoring the news, operating cameras, running sound, operating software, and production equipment. Exceptional behavior is required of all news crew members.

  • Readers Rally

    We are no longer accepting applications for this club.

    Readers Rally is for 4th and 5th grade students.  Members read fantastic books from the GCPS Readers Rally list and discuss them during club meetings.  They practice questioning and answering each other based on the contents of the books.  In February, we have a school competition in which ten students are selected to compete at the county Readers Rally Event.  Space in this club is limited.  Keep in mind that participants are selected for the club based on their application, teacher recommendation, and performance on homework assignment(s).

    Teddies and Tales is a club for learning how to retell a story to help support your child’s comprehension, foster their imagination, and helps to build meaningful connections. is This club designed for kindergarten and first grade students only. On the scheduled club dates, members will bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to school and engage by listening to a story and learning how to retell it to someone, practicing on their stuffed animal first!

    The Beginning Ukulele (“OO-KOO-LAY-LAY”) Club is a school-sponsored club for students in 4th and 5th grade who are interested in learning the beginning basics of the ukulele. Members do not need to have any prior experience playing ukulele or any other instrument.  Members will learn basic strums and basic chord shapes over the course of the club.
