Art Club

Thank you.)Art Club will be exploring different mediums and creating artwork in various processes of artmaking. The art club will be offered to different grade levels for each session this year. The first 20 applicants will be accepted for each session. We will meet in the morning at 7:15.
Meeting Dates:
9/28 and 10/12 - 2nd and 3rd Grade11/2 and 12/7 - 4th and 5th Grade

Beginning Ukulele Club

The Beginning Ukulele Club is a school sponsored club for students in 4th and 5th grade. Members will learn basic strums and basic chord shapes over the course of the club. The club will on the following Wednesday afternoons in the Music room from 3:15-4:15 PM.

Best Buddies Club

Our Best Buddies Club is only for students in 4th and 5th grade. Using the National Best Buddies program as our model, our club members work with 'Best Buddies' at Ivy Creek who have special needs. Students will learn lifelong lessons that will carry them through life. Please complete this form if you are interested in being a leader and helping others! Our club is limited to the first 20 applicants because each student will work in pairs with a special needs class at Ivy Creek.
Our club will meet at 7:15 on Wednesday mornings in Mrs. Worley's room (2nd floor - Room 3.215).
Club Dates: September 28, November 16, February 22, October 12, December 7, March 15, October 26, January 18, April 12 (tentative due to testing)
There is a $10 fee asked to help cover supply costs with our club. We will make cards & crafts for our Best Buddies during the school year, and this fee will help offset the costs. Please pay for your child's fees on My Payments Plus.

Book Nook

4th graders! Student-run book store that sells new books for $2 and gently used books and other school supplies. Opening August 26th! All students K-5 may purchase items Friday morning from 7:45-8:15 AM.

Chess Club

The Chess Club is a school sponsored club for students in 4th and 5th grade who show an interest in the game of Chess. Students can be experienced Chess players or can just be interested in the game. All levels are welcome! So no experience is needed! There is a limit of 18 students. Meetings are from 7:15-7:45 AM.

Code Club

Code Club is for kids who love challenges, problem-solving, and being creative. Students will use computer-based applications to increase their knowledge of programming through puzzles, storytelling, game creation, and more! The club will meet Thursday mornings from 7:15- 7:45 AM and is available to 3rd-5th grade in the fall and 1st- 2nd in the spring. The dates are as follows. There is a limit of 20 students in each age group (3rd-5th and 1st-2nd.)

FCA
FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is a club for students/athletes in kindergarten through 5th grade who want to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ. We will meet once a month and share ways we can make a difference on our sports' teams and in our community. The club will meet from 7:15-7:45 AM. Please drop the students off at the front of the school.

Kindness Club

Kindness Club is for students in kindergarten through 4th grade. The club will meet from 7:15-7:45 AM. Students will make a difference in our community by radiating kindness through different projects and acts of kindness. There is a limit of 25 students.

Library Club
For 3rd and 4th grade students. A limited number of students will be selected based on an application and teacher recommendation. Students will perform a variety of tasks including shelving books, making deliveries, light cleaning and assisting other students. Helpers meet twice a month during the school day for 20 minutes according to teacher and student schedules, typically during recess and once a month on Monday afternoons. Exceptional behavior is required of all media helpers.
- Club dues ($20) cover the cost of a club t-shirt and after-school snacks. Note: Dues will be collected upon acceptance into the club.

News Crew
For 5th grade students. A limited number of students are selected to participate based on application and teacher recommendation. The selected students will work in teams to broadcast Ivy Creek's morning news program, "Live on 5". Jobs include anchoring the news, operating cameras, running sound, operating software, and production equipment. Exceptional behavior is required of all news crew members.

PE Club

Readers Rally
For 4th and 5th grade students. Members read fantastic books from the GCPS Readers Rally list and discuss them during club meetings. They practice questioning and answering each other based on the contents of the books. In February, we have a school competition in which ten students are selected to compete at the county Readers Rally Event. Space in this club is limited. Keep in mind that participants are selected for the club based on their application, teacher recommendation, and performance on homework assignment(s).
- Club dues ($20) cover the cost of a club t-shirt and a Readers Rally book. Note: Dues will be collected upon acceptance into the club.

ROBOTICS (2nd & 3rd Grade)

2nd and 3rd Grade robotics is for students who would like to learn the basics of robotics systems and to code robots to perform specific tasks.
The club will meet in the mornings from 7:10-7:45 AM.
There will be a limit of 12 students. Please fill out the application and return it to Mrs. Hardy or Mrs. Miranda by September 30.
You will be notified in the first week of October if your child is selected.

STEM Club is a morning club for students in 2nd and 3rd grade from 7:15-7:45 AM. . It is a club for students who would like more hands-on engineering challenges.

Teddies and Tales Club

Teddies and Tales is a club designed for kindergarten and first grade students only. On the scheduled club dates, members will bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to school and engage by listening to a story and learning how to retell it to someone, practicing on their stuffed animal first! Email and text balsts will be used to communicate reminders. There is a limit of 20 students.
