  • 5th Grade Video Club

    Ivy Creek will be offering an opportunity for a small group of 5th graders to plan, design, and create the 5th Grade Video for this year’s end of the year 5th Grade Celebration. The purpose of the club is to stimulate student interest and involvement in media production. This will be accomplished by providing an opportunity for students to plan, take pictures and videos, edit these pictures and videos, and work with audio files. In the end, the students will help create a final product to show to an interested audience.

  • American Sign Language Club

    For 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students (MAX 40 members). Students will learn a large selection of basic signs, special holiday words, some basic conversational language, and songs. The goal of ASL Club is to introduce students to American Sign Language at an early age with hopes to bridge the gap between the hearing and deaf communities by creating a love for sign language they will carry with them into adulthood. According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are 70 million people in the world who use sign language to communicate. ASL is the 3rd most widely used language in the U.S. after English and Spanish. $20.00 club dues.

    For 4th and 5th grade students. Art Club will be exploring different mediums and create artwork in various process of artmaking. We will also be participating in art contests or community sponsored competitions. All students need to bring their enthusiasm for art and creativity. First 20 applicants will be accepted. Cost: $5.

  • Best Buddies Club

    BEST BUDDIES is Ivy Creek's Leadership Club for students in 4th and 5th grade. We will meet to discuss positive ways to exhibit leadership qualities at Ivy Creek and in life. We will learn pertinent character traits that are necessary in becoming a successful leader. We will work closely with Legacy Gwinnett Leaders from MCHS. To help fulfill our mission, club members will be "Best Buddies" with ICES students with special needs. These will be lifelong lessons that will carry our students through life. The club size is limited to the first 20 applicants. There is a fee of $15 to join. This will help to cover materials for our school and community projects, as well as a club t-shirt.

  • The Book Club

    Ivy Creek's NEW club for students in 4th and 5th grade. The Book Club is for students who enjoy reading, enjoy working with younger students, and want to make a positive impact on someone else's life. At our meetings we will learn reading strategies to use when working with younger students. The Book Club members will then spend 3-5 days a week reading to, reading with, and listening to younger students read. The Book Club members will be assigned one or two classrooms to work with from 7:45-8:15. Members should be reliable, get to school on time (between 7:45-8:00), and want to work with others. The club is limited to 15 5th graders. There is NO fee to join. All materials will be provided. Please return the application, a teacher recommendation form, and a homeroom teacher form to Dr. Nagy by September 13th.

    For 4th and 5th grade students. Chess is a great strategy game for reinforcing problem-solving skills in children!  Children learn to work together and help one another strategize through Chess!

  • Chorus

    For 4th and 5th grade students (first 80 students will be accepted).  The Ivy Creek Chorus is a performing group that promotes teamwork, gives a sense of belonging, develops school spirit, and is fun!  Students are given the opportunity to apply concepts learned in their music class and develop their singing voices.  The chorus meets weekly to prepare for special events inside and outside of school.  Any 4th or 5th grader can join.  Great behavior and attendance will ensure a high quality performance and positive role in our school community.  We will participate in several school performances with opportunities for community performances as well.  Cost:  There are 2 options.  Pay $25 for t-shirt, music and occasional snack/incentives OR pay $10 for music and occasional snacks/incentives if you have your t-shirt from last year.  All students need a t-shirt.

  • Environmental/Care Club

    For students in 3rd through 5th grade. The Environmental/Care Club is a school sponsored club in which students will make a difference for our earth and for people in our community. Students in the club will help with school recycling, educate the school on environmental concerns, work in the school garden, and send cards to people in need. A fee of $5 is asked to help cover supply costs.

    Ivy Creek will be offering the JumpStart Club this year. This club is a physical fitness program that will be offered to second and third grade students. The program will use fun activities to help students improve the quality of their lives through physical fitness. It is our hope that through participation in JumpStart students will notice an increase in their endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility.

  • Library Club

    For 3rd and 4th grade students. A limited number of students will be selected based on an application and teacher recommendation.  Students will perform a variety of tasks including shelving books, making deliveries, light cleaning and assisting other students. Helpers meet one day per week during the school day for 20 minutes according to teacher and student schedule, typically during TDPE and once a month on Monday afternoons.  Exceptional behavior is required of all media helpers.  Club dues ($20) will be collected at our first meeting.  Everyone will receive a club t-shirt and after school snacks.  Applications are due Friday, September 6th.

  • MENSA Club

    Open to fourth and fifth grade students. MENSA club originally began as a monthly gathering of great minds. "Mens" means mind. Participating students will meet approximately twice a month after school to grow their minds collaboratively at higher levels of thinking. The goal is to inspire students to become lifelong learners who deliberately socialize as learners and become more involved in their community. Students will identify their intellectual strengths and foster them for the benefit of all members in the community. Students will be encouraged to conduct research with the prospect of increasing intellectual capacity. A stimulating intellectual and social environment will be encouraged by members through meetings, games, and projects. $10 fee for club supplies requested.

  • Mindful Cubs Club

    Mindful Cubs is a time for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade to practice mindfulness exercises along with yoga.  This allows children an opportunity to improve their abilities to pay attention, calm down when they are upset and make better decisions. Mindfulness can help with emotional regulation and cognitive focus. When children practice yoga they are able to exercise, play, and connect more with the inner self.  Only the first 20 applicants will be accepted.

  • News Crew

    For 5th grade students. A limited number of students are selected to participate based on application and teacher recommendation. The selected students will work in teams to broadcast Ivy Creek's morning news program, "Live on 5". Jobs include anchoring the news, operating cameras, running sound, operating software and production equipment. Exceptional behavior is required of all news crew members.  Applications are due Friday, September 6th.

  • Readers Rally

    For 4th and 5th grade students.  Members read fantastic books from the GCPS Readers Rally list and discuss them during club meetings.  They practice questioning and answering each other based on the contents of the books.  In February, we have a school competition in which ten students are selected to compete at the county Readers Rally Event.  Space in this club is limited.  Keep in mind that participants are selected for the club based on their application, teacher recommendation, and performance on homework assignment(s).  Club dues ($20) will be collected at our first meeting.  Everyone will receive a club t-shirt and a Readers Rally book.  Applications are due Friday, September 6th.

    Learning how to retell a story helps support your child's comprehension, fosters their imagination, and helps to build meaningful connections. Teddies and Tales is designed for kindergarten and first grade students only. On the scheduled club dates, members will bring their favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to school and engage by listening to a story and learning how to retell it to someone, practicing on their stuffed animal first!  Limited to the first 20 students to sign up.

The Ivy Creek Beginning Ukulele club promotes teamwork, gives a sense of belonging, develops school spirit and is fun!  Students are given the opportunity to learn the basics of playing the ukulele and develop skills performing in a small ensemble.  Any 3rd, 4th or 5th grader without prior ukulele experience can join.  You do not need to know how to play the ukulele to join this club.  We will learn together!  Great behavior and attendance will ensure a high quality experience for all club members.  Cost:  $25.

The purpose of Yearbook Club is to allow students the opportunity to take part in designing certain aspects of the Ivy Creek Yearbook that will go on sale in the spring. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to interact with high school yearbook club members, as well as past members, to gain insight into what goes into putting together an annual yearbook for publication. There is a fee of $20 to join.
