  • Modern Band

    Mr. Jordan Band Club

    The mission of the KES Modern Band is to provide students with a unique learning educational experience where students can gain an appreciation of music. Playing an instrument builds life-long  social skills and allows students to express themselves without words. Students will perform throughout the year at various school events. KES Modern Band runs September through March.

    Sponsor: Mr. Jordan
    Meeting times: Wednesdays, 7:00 – 7:45 AM
    Who can join: Anyone in 4th and 5th grades
    Auditions for students in 2nd and 3rd grade

  • Green Team

    Green Club Picture

    This Program provides integrated, environmental education which incorporates STEM, civic skills, and green career pathways. This year's goal is to earn enough points to submit the Green & Healthy Achievement Profile and earn the Green and Healthy award for Kanoheda ES. This club is the student off-shoot of the Clean & Beautiful Committee already established at Kanoheda.

    Sponsor: Ms. Humphrey
    Meeting times: Wednesdays from 3:00-4:15 and runs September through December
    Who can join: Anyone in grades 3 – 5

  • STEAM Club

    Steam Club Picture

    The STEAM Club will help students connect their world through science investigations, art, and self- expression. Activities will consist of creating art with science and math themes. STEAM club runs October through December.

    Meeting times: Mondays, 3:10 – 4:10 PM

  • Robotics

    Robotics Club Pictur

    The purpose of the Robotics Club is to expose students to hands on technology and engineering techniques.  They will compete with other teams in the FLL Championship.  They will develop problem solving skills in addition to coding and computer skills.

    Who can join: Students in grades 3 - 5.

  • Chorus

    Musical Notes

    The mission of the KES Chorus is to serve as an important musical link between the elementary, middle and high school years. Students will develop individual skills that will help them to be successful throughout their lives. Chorus is a wonderful aid to reading and writing. Students will use lyrics to sing. Students will perform throughout the school year for school and community events. The KES Chorus runs September – March.

  • Boys Club

    Boys Club Picture The Boys Club is a mentoring program for the young men at Kanoheda ES. Boys will participate in academic tutoring and character development through physical activities. Boys club is a year-long club.

    Meeting times: Thursdays, 2:45  – 4:30 PM

  • Readers Rally

    Reader Rally Students The Readers’ Rally Team prepares students for the GCPS Readers’Rally completion by reading and answering questions, in a quiz bowl format, from the selected books. Students benefit from increased reading comprehension and the ability to express themselves in a competitive format. Reader’s Rally runs October through March.

    Meeting times: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays during lunch
    Who can join: Selected students in grades 4 & 5

  • Art Club

    Art Club Logo The Art club will help students extend their knowledge of art and their artistic skills through a variety of materials. Students will learn how art is a part of our everyday lives, school and community. Activities include drawing, painting, sculpting, fiber and paper arts and recycled materials. Culminating activity includes an art show at the end of the school year. Art club will run September through February.

  • Jump Rope Club

    Jump Rope Club Picture

    The purpose of the Jump Rope Team is to promote enhancement of rope jumping skills through a team building environment. Jump rope team encourages students to be physically active because research shows that physically active children perform better academically and develop leadership and problem solving skills. Jump Rope Team will have on-going activities throughout the school year.
