Welcome to the Media Center at Minor!
Reading and learning are our primary focus in the Media Center at Minor! Students are encouraged to select books based on their interests. Our mission is to develop life-long readers and researchers and inspire students to find books they will love!
The Media Center at Minor Elementary has a variety of resources for students, whether they are learning in-person or digitally from home.
If you are a digital learner in grades pre-K through 5th grade, you will place holds on books you would like to check out. You can place up to five holds at a time. When the books are ready, your grownup will get an email with more information about picking up the books through our Curbside Checkout service. Please wait until you receive this email so that we make sure the books are pulled off the shelf and ready to be picked up! Go to this page for more information about Curbside Checkout and placing holds on books.
If you are an in-person learner in Kindergarten through 2nd grade, you will be able to check out books each week from our traveling book cart! Students in Kindergarten and first grade may check out one book at a time and students in second grade may check out 2 books at a time. If you are an in-person learner in 3rd through 5th grades, you will place holds on books, which will be delivered to your classroom when they are available. You can have up to 2 books checked out at a time.
There are no fines for overdue books; however, there is a fee for lost or damaged materials. These fees are set by the district: $15 for hardback books and $5 for paperback books (designated by PBK in the call number) and magazines. Fees may be paid by cash or check brought in to the media center OR on MyPaymentsPlus.com.
