Ms. Gayle Adkinson
Ms. Gayle Adkinson helped open Peachtree Ridge in 2003 and has served in various leadership capacity’s since the school opened. She currently supports our SPIRE (STEM Program for Innovation Rigor and Excellence) program as well as our cluster-wide STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) initiative.
Ms. Adkinson has been involved in education for over thirty-five years. Prior to Peachtree Ridge, she taught science at Briarcliff High School in Dekalb County, Duluth High School, and Collins Hill High School. Ms. Adkinson left PRHS in 2009 to serve as a Curriculum Director at the district level. After retiring from the district in December, 2012, she was able “to come back home” and work half-time supporting various initiatives.
Ms. Adkinson holds an Education Speciqliw5 in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia. She received her Masters in Education from GA State University and her Bachelor of Science from Mercer Universtiy, Macon campus. Ms. Adkinson loves hiking waterfalls in the mountains and spending time with her two grandchildren, Noah, age 11, and Zoe, age 5. Additionally, she is involved in a new Anglican church plant in Athens, GA where her son is the founding rector.
