Mr. Tom Cox

Mr. Cox is in his 13th year at Peachtree Ridge.  He is now teaching AP U.S. History.  In the past, he has presided over AP  Government and AP World History.  Previously, Mr. Cox accumulated a Star Teacher Award from his previous school, Luella High in Henry County.  He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Masters in History and a BA in History.  (There's also a Masters in Education degree just for the fun of it.)  His personal goal is to read all the books in the basement that have accumulated over the decades; and maybe even to have one of his students grow up to do something useful to save the country, or better yet, the world!

On the domestic front, Mr. Cox is down to only two dogs at the moment (used to be 6):  Possum and his personal dog Fred. There's also a wife whom he met in high school Spanish class many moons ago, and a son who's finally grown up and gotten a job on his own.  He is a founding member of America's Favorite Backyard Bar-be-cue Country Western Sitar Band, the Inverted Goates.  He is from all over the state of Georgia-------yes, a Georgia native-----mainly Savannah and DeKalb County.
