• Art Club

    Painting Students will have a chance to explore different mediums, techniques, and tools while using their artistic abilities to create Art for themselves, community and fundraisers. Permission slips and money dues are due by September 6, 2019 (only 50 SPOTS AVAILABLE).  I am looking forward to meeting each of you and to creating ART! Remember to be ready to possibly get messy and wear old clothing.   • Boys On The Rise

    Middle school can be a difficult time for students. It is the goal of Boys on the Rise program to give assistance to those individuals.Boys on the Rise is a mentoring program open to male students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th which will focus on 5 topics. They are:

       Building positive relationships
       Dealing with pressures (Making the Right Choice- A man’s perspective)
       Effective communication

  • Chess Club

    Sponsor: Ms. Westmoreland and Mr. Edwards

    Chess Club seeks to encourage students to play chess to build both thinking and social skills.  Although some members may be more competitive than others, we encourage “friendly” games where students help each other learn to be better players

    Meeting Day:      Thursday mornings at 8:00am (2nd & 4th Thursday)

    Chess Club funds will be used for refreshments during our special events, Chess Club t-shirts (if we have enough students), and end of year medals.  Please make the contribution through mealpayplus.com (same place you pay for student lunches).  Students are also required to bring a signed permission form from parents/guardians to join.  Permission forms are available on the school website and from the media center.

  • Girls On Fire

    Mentor Club for Girls on F.I.R.E (Females with Integrity, Respect, and Excellence) Please see Mrs. Pomera School Counselor

GOF is a mentoring program open to female students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th which will focus on 5 topics. They are:

  • Harmonix- Northbrook MS Honor Orchestra

    Sponsors: Janice Yoon and Hermes Mejia

    Harmonix is a morning enrichment group for students who desire to expand their musical knowledge beyond their regular classwork.  It will provide opportunities for students to hone their playing skills and techniques.  Students will also build leadership and team working skills as they will be mastering pieces on their own under the teachers’ guidance. Students will be given many extra performance opportunities throughout the year.

  • Postcrossing

    Postcrossing is a project that allows anyone in the world to send and receive postcards. For each postcard you send, you will receive one back from a random postcrosser somewhere in the world.  It's the perfect club for students who enjoy learning about other places and cultures.

  • Readers Rally Book Club

    Sponsor: Nicole Cabezas

    Members will read from a list of 15 books. Together as a team we will discuss books, practice our knowledge of books with practice questions, and prepare for the county wide Readers’ Rally Competition.

    Meeting Day:  Readers Rally will meet on Thursday mornings from 8;00 - 8:55 in the Media Center. A calendar will be provided to members.

    Students, if you have a curiosity of everything science and engineering, consider joining Northbrook's Science Fair Club. Meetings will be held the second and fourth Tuesday's from September through December preparing for the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the Gwinnett Regional Science & Engineering Fair on February 21, 2020. Northbrook wants to invite students with innovative ways to change the world through science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Please see Ms. Johnson in room 1.1.232 and watch the scrolling announcements for more details. All are invited!

    Student Council Please see Mrs. Pomera

    Student Council serves as both a student leadership organization as well as a service program at Northbrook Middle School. Student Council is comprised of one representative from each 6th, 7th, and 8th grade homeroom. It is an honor for a student to be a member of Student Council. Members are expected to be examples for their classmates through their academic performance, conduct, and attendance. Members are required to attend meetings and participate in projects such as school-wide service activities. The central focus of Student Council is leadership development.
