    DO YOU OFFER A PRE-K PROGRAM?
    The free prekindergarten (Pre-K) program for Georgia 4-year-olds is administered by the state. Children must be 4 years old by September 1 in order to enroll. In Gwinnett County, this program is delivered through private childcare providers who are approved by the state.     DO YOU OFFER AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM?
    Students enrolled at Chattahoochee Elementary may attend GASP (Georgia After-School Program) that is offered at the school until 6:30pm. Find more information here about this program. 
    We can also provide parents a list of day care providers in our area which provide transportation to and from school.

    WHEN IS MEET YOUR TEACHER DAY?

    Meet Your Teacher Day for the 2022-2023 school year will be Friday, July 29 from 8:00am-12:00pm.

    WHEN IS THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL?
    The first day for the 2022-2023 school year will be staggered across two days throughout GCPS. Digital students in all grades will begin on Wednesday, August 3.In-person students in kindergarten, 1st, 6th, and 9th grades, and small groups will begin on Wednesday, August 3. In-person students in all other grades will begin on Thursday, August 4. Visit the GCPS page to see the school calendar.

    WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS?

    CES hours are 7:45am-2:45pm. For your child's safety, students should not arrive or be dropped off before 7:45am as there is no adult supervision before this time. Students will be counted tardy if they are not in class by 8:15am. If you are checking your student out of school, you must do so before 2:15pm.

    HOW DO I COMMUNICATE A CHANGE IN TRANSPORTATION FOR MY CHILD?

    Please send a note to your child's teacher and/or call the front office at 770-497-9907 to communicate a change in transportation.

    CAN I EAT LUNCH WITH MY CHILD?

    Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their own child during the assigned lunch time (please wait until after the first two weeks of school). Visitors are asked to eat at the purple tables in the atrium, as there are some students who have food allergies. Please be prepared to present identification and sign in at the atrium desk to obtain a visitor badge when you arrive. Due to certain circumstances, lunch schedules are subject to change, so please contact your child's teacher before visiting for lunch.

    WHAT IS YOUR SCHOOL'S POLICY CONCERNING CELEBRATING A STUDENT'S BIRTHDAY?

    Birthday treats may be sent to school for the class to enjoy at a time which best suits the day's schedule. The snack should be ready to serve, requiring no cutting, no refrigeration, etc. and should not include drinks. Parents are welcome to purchase ice cream from the school for birthday treats. In an effort to protect children's feelings, we ask that no party invitations be given out in a classroom unless ALL children receive an invitation.

    CAN MY CHILD HAVE MEDICATION AT SCHOOL?

    Yes. A parent or guardian must bring the medication to the clinic and fill out paperwork.

    WILL MY CHILD BE ABLE TO USE A SCHOOL COMPUTER FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR?

    All CES students will have a chromebook assigned to them at the beginning of the year. Students will use these school chromebooks in the classroom. If you would like for your child to bring the chromebook home for digital learning or to complete assignments (when deemed necessary by the classroom teacher), the parent must sign paperwork. All students are expected to take care of the school chromebook and to turn it in at the end of the school year. Damaged or lost devices will incur fees that can be paid for on MyPaymentsPlus.
