     Art Club Logo

    Club Purpose: To provide students the opportunity to learn about art and improve their artistic ability.
    Club Participation: 4th and 5th Grade Students

    Club Details: Applications will be sent home to interested students on September 3. Returning members will begin the club on September 5. New members will be added on October 17. This club will meet every other Wednesday morning from 6:50-7:40 AM.

  • Check It Out Club

    Club Purpose: Media center aides will help out once a week in the morning with book circulation, shelving, deliveries, etc.
    Club Details: We will have one initial meeting where we go over expectations and students sign up for a day of the week to come help in the media center. Each student will come on their scheduled day from 7:45 to 8:15.

  • Chess & Checkers Club


    Club Purpose: Students will have the opportunity to learn the games of Chess and Checkers.
    Club Participation: 4th and 5th Grade Students
    Club Details: Students will fill out an application form and turn it in with signed parent consent in order to be considered for the club. Twelve students will be selected to participate. The club will meet monthly, starting in September, on the second Tuesday of each month from 3:30PM - 4:30PM.

  • Garden Club


    Club Purpose: To give students the opportunity to learn about urban agriculture and increase awareness of ecology, botany, and conservation.
    Club Participation: 4th and 5th Grade Students
    Club Details: Students interested in this club will receive a letter and permission slip. Students will meet every other week, before school from 7:00-7:40am.

  • Girls on the Run


    Club Purpose: To encourage and promote a healthy physical lifestyle for girls who love to run.
    Club Participation: 4th and 5th Grade Students
    Club Details: This club will begin in February 2019. Applications and permission forms will be sent home closer to the start date. Students will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.

  • Mustang Chorus


    Club Purpose: The purpose of the Mustang Chorus is to provide world-class instruction, performance opportunities, and exposure for young singers in 4th and 5th grade. 
    Club Details: (application and meeting times/dates): The Mustang Chorus meets every Tuesday from 6:50 AM - 7:40 AM. Applications are due on August 31st and auditions will be held on September 5th.

  • Mustang Readers


    Club Purpose:
    Book club and Readers Rally team - we will read the books on the GCPS Readers Rally book list. 5 to 10 students will be chosen in February to compete in the county competition. 

    Club Details: (including meeting dates and times): The club will meet on scheduled Wednesdays after school until 4:00. The scheduled days are as follows:

    Club Expectations:
    BOOKS- Assigned books will be checked out to YOU.  You are responsible for taking good care of the books.
    READING- Students are expected to keep up with their reading for Book Club for each meeting. Students are expected to read a minimum of 3 of the Readers Rally chapter books by January 3. We will read the picture books together as a club.
    EXCELLENT BEHAVIOR & ATTITUDE – Behavior and attitude affect all team members.  We expect you to be respectful and thoughtful at all times.  You represent Meadowcreek!
    ATTENDANCE - Attendance at club meetings is very important. Discussion and practice are a large part of the reading club experience.   
    TRANSPORTATION -Students MUST BE PICKED UP on Wednesdays at 4:00 PM. Parents will receive a reminder and permission form on the Monday before each meeting. If you are unable to pick up your student at 4:00 on that Wednesday, please do not sign the form. If a student’s ride is later than 4:15 two times, they will no longer be able to participate in the club.
    READERS RALLY– Members will have the opportunity to be a part of the Gwinnett County Reader’s Rally Team competition in February.  Coaches will be choosing our TOP FIVE to TEN readers to participate in this quiz bowl event. The students will be chosen based on how well they have followed the above expectations, how many of the Readers Rally books they have completed, and how well the perform in our club competitions. Chosen students will receive more information about the Readers Rally as we get closer to the competition.

  • Robotics Club

    Club Purpose: To give students the opportunity to learn about coding, robotics, teamwork, and using the Engineer Design Process to solve real world problems.
    Club Participation: 4th and 5th Grade Students
    Club Details: Students will fill out an application. If chosen, a permission slip with the dates and times of the meetings will be listed. Students will meet once a week before school from 6:55-7:40AM.

  • S.W.A.T. Team : Students Who Assist with Technology

    SWAT Team

    S.W.A.T. Team: Students Who Assist with Technology
    Club Purpose: To give students the opportunity to learn about technology hardware and programs and help others with technology at Meadowcreek.
    Club Participation: 3rd 4th and 5th Grade Students
    Club Details: Students interested in this club will be selected by teachers. Meetings will be held after breakfast (7:45 or when students arrive at school) on 1-2 Wednesdays per month. Meeting notices are posted in our Google Classroom for S.W.A.T. Team members.

  • Safety Patrol


    Club Purpose: To provide students a leadership opportunity that ensures school-wide safety. 
    Club Participants: 5th Grade Students
    Club Details: Interested students will be selected by a committee. Each member will receive a permission slip that must be signed by the student's guardian. Safety Patrol members will meet once a month during lunch to participate in a leadership lesson facilitated by Mrs. Thompson or a counselor. Members will also receive a badge and safety belt that must be worn during morning and afternoon hallway duties. Safety patrol members will begin the last week in August.
