Orchestra

Information: Lilburn Middle School is pleased to be able to offer beginning strings instruction to students in the 6th grade. Orchestra classes will meet during the school day and will be free of charge. Instruction will be offered in violin, viola, cello and bass.

Drama Club & Mustang Theatre Ensemble

Meeting Location: Theatre (2.101)Information: Drama Club is for students in all grade levels, regardless of whether or not they are in the theatre class, to have an opportunity to participate in a theatre environment to learn acting skills, improv techniques, important communication skills, and self-esteem boosting activities. Drama Club will take place on Friday mornings from 8:10-8:50 in the LMS Mustang Theatre, room 2.101.
Information: The Mustang Theatre Ensemble is open for 6th, 7th and 8th grade Lilburn Middle students who complete the application and audition process.
The Mustang Theatre Ensemble program is a year-long theatre program designed to train students who are looking to continue their theatre education beyond the middle school level. Students gain access to this program through an application and audition process. Once accepted in the program students audition and apply for specific parts and jobs within the Fall Production and Spring Musical. Students in this program gain leadership skills, varied thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as team and ensemble skills. In addition to the two productions, this group also participates in DramaRama, (the GCPS middle school theatre conference). There is a one-time fee associated with this program to help cover costs of productions, t-shirts and the spring fieldtrip.
Junior Thespian Troupe 88785

Meeting Location: Theatre (2.101)Information: The Junior Thespian Troupe is part of the International Thespian Society and is sponsored by the Educational Theatre Association. This is an honorary theatre group named after the first actor on record to win an award Thespis. Members earn their place in our troupe through working on shows, performing, attending theatre events and volunteer work. Members in the Jr. Thespian Troupe can transfer points to join at the high school level. The Jr. Thespian troupe acts as the organizing board of the LMS Mustang Theatre Program.
Piano Club

Boy's Basketball

Information: This is a Gwinnett County sponsored activity where students will need to try-out in the fall. Once the team is selected, we travel to other Middle Schools in the County to play against them. This is a great opportunity for students who are seriously into playing basketball at a highly competitive level. Emphasis is put on teamwork, fundamentals, strategy and playing the game the “right” way. For any student to participate in 7th and 8th Grade Basketball, the student will need a valid Athletic Physical and must have passed the second semester of previous year.
Girl's Basketball

Information: The dance team is a group who performs at the boys and girls basketball games, and at various Gwinnett County community events. Students who participate in this sport should like to promote school spirit, and represent LMS in a positive way.
Club Soccer

Information: The LMS Intramural soccer program exists to promote the game of soccer among students. It is open to all grades. Students choose teams or are placed on teams. They learn the game by playing. Skills and rules are reviewed in a competitive but fun environment. An important part of the program is the study hall, where students can study, read, or do homework for 25 minutes before they play. Students are expected to be passing all subjects with a grade “C” or above.

Information: All students are invited to work on their basketball skills, whether they are just beginning or have played for a while. Here we teach the fundamentals of basketball all the way up to specific techniques and skills used in the game. Any student who is interested in playing basketball for Lilburn Middle in 7th and 8th grade are strongly encouraged to participate.

Information: All students are provided the opportunity to learn the rules and skills related to playing volleyball in a fun and relaxed atmosphere after school here at Lilburn Middle. Students are provided one on one coaching and learn the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship and hard work.

Junior Leadership Corps
Program Contact: Sgt. Christopher Diaz
Information: The Junior Leadership Corps program is an optional leadership program for middle school students. The program is designed to teach leadership concepts that will enhance the student’s ability to interact with other students, school faculty and individuals within the local community. The program is a connections course available to all students enrolled at Lilburn Middle School.
Cadets are provided with a formal blue uniform shirt; students will be provided any rank, uniform cords, and arc pins. All uniform items issued to a student during the course must be turned in at the conclusion or at withdrawal/removal from school or the Junior Leadership Corps. Any items that are lost or damaged will be the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian to replace.
Leadership lab and physical training are integral components of the Junior Leadership Corps. All Cadets are expected to participate in prescribed activities. Appropriate provisions for Cadets with disabilities will be made.
