  • North Gwinnett Middle School offers many clubs and activities throughout the year. Clubs may run for the entire year or limited time and meet before and/or after school. For specific information on the club you are interested in, please select from the list below.

  • Bulldog Book Club

    Grades: 6-8

    Mission/Purpose:  The Bulldog Book Club is a non-competitive club.  We foster a love of reading.  Our club shares the books we are reading, play games, and enjoy activities in a low-key, low-stress atmosphere.

  • Bulldog News Broadcast Club

    Mission/Purpose:  The Bulldog News Network produces the morning announcements and digital content to share with the school and community.

    Description of Planned Activities:  Students will develop leadership and teamwork skills through a number of on-camera and behind the scenes positions including anchor/feature, camera/lights, sound, teleprompter, studio director, video director, and switchboard operator.  Students are selected during the spring of the year prior to the club start date.  For example, students for the 2019-2020 club were selected in spring 2019.

    Mission/Purpose:  The mission of NGMS Odyssey of the Mind is to foster creativity and teamwork within the framework of the International Odyssey of the Mind framework.

    Description of Planned Activities:  Students will meet in the fall/winter with teams of 7 to prepare for regional competition on March 7th.  Students will practice spontaneous problem solving and work with teams to develop a solution to problems provided by Odyssey of the Mind.

  • Quiz Bowl

  • Readers Rally

    Grades: 6-8

    Cost:  The final 10 team members will contribute $10 for a team t-shirt.

    Mission/Purpose:  Readers Rally is a competition-style club in which students read 15 books with the goal of participating in a county-wide tournament with other GCPS schools.

    Description of Planned Activities:  All students who submit an application will attend weekly meetings.  Students will read, write, practice questions, and complete buzzer rounds at each meeting.  GCPS allows 10 team members to participate in the final competition.  In December, the final 10 teams' members will be selected based on performance in practice in practice buzzer rounds.

  • Robotics

    Grades: 6-8

    Description of Planned Activities:  To develop rockets and robots by planning lesson objectives and goals, providing the necessary materials to accomplish these goals, and then establishing and supporting an environment that promotes collaborative spirit for facing engineering challenges.
