  • Art Club

    Open to 4th – 5th Grade Students 

    Sponsor: Kelly Lemoine

    Student artists will come together before school to improve skills, compare art and artists, and participate in different group events. The members will explore various art techniques in a small group setting and use an assortment of mediums that they may or may not experience in regular art classes. Student artists in grades 4 and 5 that are interested in participating will complete an application process (due to limited spots available).

    Student artists will meet on Monday mornings from 7:15 – 8:00.

  • Chess Club

    Open to 1st – 5th Grade Students

    Sponsor: Tia MacKay

    The purpose of the Chess Club is to provide a forum in which all skill level Chess players from 2nd to 5th grade can exercise their talents and develop into Chess players of excellent caliber and character and to promote the study and knowledge of Chess; not only for fun and enjoyment, but also as a tool to become problem solvers.

    The Chess Club will meet in the cafeteria Wednesday mornings from 7:10 – 7:45.

  • Environmental Club

    Open to 3rd Grade Students

    Sponsors: Soo Son & Heather DeGrace

    Students in 3rd grade will be collecting recyclable materials throughout the school. This club will meet on Wednesday from 3:00 – 3:45.

  • Fitness Club

    Open to 4th & 5th Grade Students

    Sponsor: Jason Gogolinski

    The Fitness Club will allow students to increase their strength and fitness levels. Students will learn about physical activity, exercise, and fitness by utilizing fitness games and activities that are aligned with the Gwinnett County Public Schools PE Academic Knowledge and Skills.

    This club will meet on Wednesdays from 7:30 – 8:05.

  • Good News Club

    Open to 2nd – 5th Grade Students 

    Sponsor: Carol Kohl

    Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet. Each week an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials is presented. This actionpacked time also includes songs, scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme. Each lesson also includes strong discipleship training to build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth.

    This club meets on Thursday from 3:00 – 4:45.

    Open to 4th – 5th Grade Students

    The Suwanee Elementary School Guitar Club promotes musical literacy and life-long learning through involvement with the guitar. Guitar Club brings together students to play and appreciate music and the guitar. Students will participate in a performance to showcase their newly acquired talents.

  • Kidz Keys

    Open to K – 2nd Grade Students

    Sponsor: Michael Silvey

    Soar into KidzKeys this semester and learn skills that will last a lifetime! KidzKeys provides students in K through 2nd Grade an environment to explore and express their own creativity - all while having fun learning with friends! Our experienced teachers work with students to develop their own musical abilities, promote self-confidence, and encourage teamwork.

    This club will meet on Tuesday from 3:00-4:00.

  • Orchestra

    Open to 2nd - 5th Grade students

    Sponsor: Margaret Montalvo

    Students will learn proper playing technique on violin, viola, cello or bass as well as be able to appreciate different styles of music. The curriculum is customized to be and include differentiated instruction so that children of all different learning styles can be successful learners. Class size will be limited to approximately 20 students.

    Orchestra will meet on Thursday from 3:00 – 4:45.

    Sponsor: Marti Parker Orff Ensemble has a great time playing instruments like xylophones and hand percussion, and is open to all 4th and 5th graders!

  • Readers Rally

    Open to 4th & 5th Grade Students

    Sponsor: Jennifer Duncan

    Readers Rally is a reading quiz bowl style competition for students in fourth and fifth grade by teacher recommendation. Students read books from a pre-determined list and answer questions about those books.

    This club will meet on Thursdays from 7:30 – 8:00.

  • Robotics Club

    Students in 5th grade will have various opportunities to explore robotics. This club will begin in the Fall and the team will have the chance to compete in events.

    Students in grades K-5 will be given the opportunity to start learning a second language. The earlier you introduce a second language, the easier it will be for the child to pick it up.

    The technolopgy club will meet after school to help enhance students' technological skills. Students will participate in hands on sessions while learning to use Animation Design, Visual Art Tools, and 3D Design Tools. Students will have an opportunity to showcase their projects.

  • Young Rembrants

    Open to K – 5th Grade Students

    Sponsor: Jayne Blackman

    Back to school is in full swing as we present a bountiful selection of drawings that introduces our students to a fascinating world of color, pattern, and design. We say farewell to summer in our detailed still life drawing of a beach. We explore color usage and composition in our chameleon and fire truck drawings. In keeping with the season, our stylized fall leaves drawing challenges our technique and color scheme. Our students will learn cultural themes as they draw and color Kawaii inspired art. All this and more awaits your child in a Young Rembrandts classroom!
