    RMS Girls Volleyball Team

    Description: The primary purpose of the Volleyball player is to belong, having a purpose, a team member, supporting each other, working together, sportsmanship, leadership by learning to follow first, dependable, and talented.

    Mission/Purpose: Being a volleyball player is an honor and special privilege.  It’s a spirited, talented groups existing to promote good sportsmanship, good citizenship, wholesome and enthusiastic school spirit, and are first and foremost representatives of their school. Members have a fundamental responsibility to play a leadership role in building teamwork and helping the players to be exceptional. They are expected to maintain a higher standard of behavior both in academics, on the campus, and in their classrooms.

    Mission/Purpose: The goal of the RMS Band Program is to to provide an environment that develops creativity, self-expression, self-confidence and personal discipline. In addition, students will develop an appreciation of music and an understanding of music fundamentals by becoming skilled in playing a musical instrument.

    Mission/Purpose: The primary purpose of the RMS Chorus Program is to provide students with the opportunity to sing and perform advanced repertoire in various genres. Our mission is to provide a superior choral arts education in which students gain not only musical skills and a life-long appreciation of music, but also develop individual skills and strategies that will help them to be successful in all academic areas and throughout their lives.

    Target Audience: 

    All RMS students in grades 6th-8th grade who want to stay physically fit by playing sports with friends. 

     

    When: 7:30– 9:00 am (Dropoff between 7:15- 7:30 AM) 

     

    First Semester (8/22 – 10/21) 

     

    Second Semester (2/27-5/12) 

    Monday – Flag Football or Volleyball

     Students assigned to ISS cannot participate in the intramural program that day. 

    Intramurals is an extracurricular program. Failure to follow school rules or Intramural program policies will result in iin suspension from the intramural program.

    What to Bring: 

    Students should come to school dressed to participate in fitness activities. Water is encouraged. 

    Locker rooms will be available for use after the club activities. 

  • Orchestra

    Mission/Purpose: The primary purpose of the RMS Orchestra Program is  to have students learn basic through intermediate techniques of playing string instrument as well as playing in an ensemble. We want to teach students to appreciate the value of quality music in society as well as develop qualities of leadership, citizenship, and pride in their performance ultimately resulting in an orchestra of young professionals.

    Description: Step Team is an 7th and 8th grade team focused on bringing spirit & support for all RMS activities.

    Description: Students in 6, 7, and 8 will come together to play and develop skills to play soccer on teams in an organized format.

    Mission/Purpose: The purpose of the soccer club is to provide an opportunity for students who enjoy playing soccer to come together for organized and friendly game play, also students will develop cardiovascular fitness and teamwork skills in the course of playing soccer

    Description: The RMS News Crew produces the daily morning announcements and assists in the production of special RMS video features.

    Mission:  Prism is an all-inclusive, student-led club that aims to provide a safe, tolerant, and supportive place for LGBTQ+ students and allies. 

    This club can touch on topics such as family, identity, and respect. It can be a place for LGBTQ+ students and allies to connect and hold space for each other. We believe that schools can be truly safe ONLY when every student is assured of access to an education without fear of harassment or violence.

  • Peer Leaders

    Location: Leadership training is Tuesdays from 8:15- 9:00 am first semester in the Professional Learning Center Room on C-Hall.  There is also an option to be a Classroom Helper during Connections for 2nd semester.

    Description: Peer Leadership is a student organization that is offered to 8th grade students who are respectful, responsible, self-disciplined, and have the potential to be great student leaders. Assignments for Peer Leaders may vary, but may include working in the classroom with a teacher during connections, assisting a younger student, giving new student tours, helping out in the media center, tutoring, and helping out with other special projects in the school.

  • Readers' Rally

    Description: Readers Rally is a book club that reads and discusses award winning books and practices for competition. Members are recommended by their teachers and chosen by the club’s sponsors. Members practice answering questions about the books preparation for the county competition.

  • Relay for Life
