Curricular Groups & Clubs
GSMST provides students a variety of school-sponsored opportunities to learn and compete in areas that are connected to the academic experience and our four-year curriculum. The assistant principal most directly involved in this area is Mr. Luke Rapley.
Computer Science Club
GSMST provides students a variety of recreational opportunities for the purpose of physical and mental wellness. Some of these activities repeat on a weekly or monthly basis and other events occur at one specific time each year. Our Intramural Coordinator is math teacher, Michael Rawlins. The assistant principal most directly involved in this area is Dr. Peter Jones.
Class on Class Basketball Tournament
Class on Class Soccer Tournament
Video Game Tournament
GSMST supports students towards high academic performance while also realizing that adolescence is a significant time for growth and development in one's thinking about the world and about one's self. The results of regular student wellness surveys and information gathered by students elected and chosen to represent their classmates (e.g. Student Council, GSLT, etc.) inform the specific discussions and forums offered in a themed Colloquium Series to support the growth and development of GSMST students. The theme for 2019-2020 is #UnityThroughDiversity. The assistant principal most directly involved in this area is Mrs. Karen Rockey.
Service and Civic Engagement
One of the graduation requirements at GSMST involves the accumulation of community service hours including a minimum of 40 hours over four years with the option of 200 hours in order to earn a graduation cord. What truly matters is not the documentation of volunteer hours but the actual service to one's community and the growth and development of young adults in learning how to engage their Gwinnett County community and beyond as active citizens who live out the integrity we emphasize within our school. A regularly updated list of opportunities and events available for students can be found on the appropriate page within our eCLASS environment. The head of our Partnership Program, Ms. Nicole D'Antonio, serves as our Coordinator for Outreach and Civic Engagement. The assistant principal most directly involved in this area is Ms. Jana Czerwonky.
If your organization would like to be considered as a potential partner for GSMST in this area, please contact either of the individuals above or principal, IV Bray.
