  • Discovery High School recognizes community service hours by placing a seal on the diploma. The objective of volunteer/community service is to provide an opportunity for students to make meaningful connections and enrich the lives of others by performing service for their community. Students must accumulate 100 total hours of volunteer/community service to receive a seal on the diploma. The 100 hours can be accumulated throughout the high school years.

    Pebble Tossers has done all the leg-work for you, helping you find, take action, record,  and reflect on, fun volunteer projects with local, pre-screened organizations in need of assistance. Pebble Tossers Projects are     age appropriate and cover 12 major cause areas including The Arts, Animals, Citizenship, Education & Literacy, Elderly, Environment, Families in Crisis, Fragile Children, Global Awareness, Homelessness, Hunger, and US Troops & Veterans.

    Gwinnett County Multicultural Festival on Saturday, April 27, 2019- Volunteer opportunity 

    Gwinnett County is looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to assist with the Gwinnett County Multicultural Festival.  This event will be held on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Shorty Howell Park in Duluth. Students who want to volunteer need to complete the brief information below. Mrs. Taylor-Crawford, Career Academy Coach/Community Liaison will forward your name and email address to the event coordinator. You will receive an email about volunteering.
