VEX Robotics Details

  • Mission:

    The mission of the robotics team is to provide students the opportunity to explore, create, and innovate using robotics technology as a means to build collaboration and camaraderie.

    Meeting times (ONLY for students interested in applying for the competition team):

    Attendance is required.  Applications are due August, Thursday, August 24, 2023.

    Days: Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday  8:15 - 8:55 a.m.  Starting Tuesday, August 8, 2023 for initial observations. We will NOT meet on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

     

    Description of Activities:

    OMS will offer one VEX V5 Robot competition team.

    Prior to team selection, interested students will need to attend meetings every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:15-8:55 a.m. in room 1.638.  Teacher observations will take place during this time.  Additionally, an application is required and due by Thursday, August, 24, 2023.     VEX Robotics Competition Teams

    Joining the VEX competition team requires completion of an application, regular attendance at weekly practices, and a commitment by parent(s) to attend Saturday competitions with their child. No drop-offs. Teamwork and collaboration are strongly emphasized among the competition teams.  Parents/guardians are required to complete an agreement as well.  There is a $40 team fee if your child is selected to the team.  Submit the parent consent form, but do not send in any money at this time.
