The goal of the GCPS Community School program is to extend education and recreation to the community.
Here within GCPS Community Schools, students are respected as individuals and are encouraged to develop at their own pace. If you have a natural curiosity about the world around you and are eager to learn, you may wish to attend one or more of our many available programs. The GCPS classroom environment provides a learning experience where students are free to learn through the use of well designed course materials with the help and guidance of a qualified instructor.
Driver's Education and School Plus Information
Driver's Education School
Norcross High School offers a comprehensive driver's ed program to fulfill Georgia's teen driver safety requirement. Classes are offered throughout the year. The course requires 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of road instruction for a total of 36 hours.
Please note that due to the COVID - 19 closure we WILL NOT be conducting Drivers Education classes or Behind the Wheel Driving until further notice.
We do anticipate the formation of on-line Drivers Education classes starting in late July and throughout the 2020-2021 school year.

Online Summer Health/Physical Education
Dates: May 26 - June 16
Time: Health and Phys. Ed are taught daily
Cost: $250 per class, $275 per class if outside GCPS
Instructors: Coach Cerneka & Coach Lake
Registration of at least 20 students is required to have a class
Registration will begin the week of May 4th, 2020
In order to register:

- Pay online at https://www.mypaymentsplus.com under the Norcross Community School tab. Registration is only available to the first 100 students.
Health: Students are expected to read online content, participate in online discussions, complete writing assignments and take online unit tests. The course covers 16 units of material focusing on wellness, healthy
choices, nutrition, physical fitness, systems of the body, mental health, Lifelines, Choosing the Best and ADAP.
PE: Students will create a personal fitness portfolio, complete and track weekly workouts, complete reading assignments and take unit tests. Topics for study include lifelong fitness, training principles and nutrition.
Students must have access to a smartphone for tracking and sharing workouts with the instructor.
