National Art Honor Society
The National Art Honor Society is designed to recognize students who excel in the Visual Arts. Through group critiques, students will engage in open discussions about each other’s work. These discussions will lead to creative insights, and could result in collaborative works. They will be given feedback about their progress, and will utilize their time to improve specific areas of their portfolio. In addition to exploring new techniques, club members will participate in art-based community service. The projects will vary, based on student interest. Implementing artistic skills in assisting others is the overall mission of National Art Honor Society. To maintain national membership, students are required to participate in at least 10 hours of community service throughout the year. Students are given opportunities to complete these hours with NAHS. Students who do not earn 10 hours of service will not receive an Honor cord for graduation. The National Art Honor Society meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, in room 1.303. Meetings last for an hour.
