    Art Club is a chance for White Oak students to do more challenging Art projects with others who enjoy Art as much as they do. It is a chance for them to become stronger artists and explore additional mediums and techniques. This will be RIGOROUS!

  • Book Club

    The WOES Book Club is open to students in 4th and 5th grade. Students meet weekly after school, set reading goals, engage in discussion about the books, and participate in an activity. Fee includes book purchase and WOES Book Club string bag.

  • Broadcast Team

    Grades 5th Grade Only

    Fee:  $30 (Includes activities, field trip, and t-shirt)

    White Oak’s Broadcast Team gives 5th graders the opportunity to experience producing the daily live broadcast of White Oak’s news show.  Students learn about the different roles that make up the morning news crew. Students also enjoy quarterly “lunch n’ learn” meetings. The WOES Broadcast Team will travel to GCPS TV at the GCPS Instructional Support Center and tour the broadcast department. In the Spring students walk to Lanier Middle School and participate in the LMS morning broadcast. 

  • FAST

    FAST Sports and Fitness Program.  Your child will learn about and play various sports while learning how to run properly and live a healthy lifestyle.  Sports include: basketball, kickball, football, baseball, soccer, and more. Training techniques include: speed & agility, resistance training, and full body strengthening.

  • Honor Chorus

    Students have an opportunity to perform in a county wide performance with other schools. Students participate in a Saturday afternoon broadcast event. Participation is limited to four members

  • Jump Rope Team

    Jump Rope Team meets Wednesday mornings from 7:15-7:45

    Students will try out for the jump rope team.  Try-out information will be handed out in PE the first week of September to any student interested. Each week, students will practice new skills and learn a routine.  The jump rope team will perform routine during Fine Arts night.

  • Orchestra

    Grades 2 -5 only

    Fee:  $10 Registration Fee and $10 per class

    Orchestra - Come join the fun!  Learn to play the violin, viola, or the cello.  Lessons held at White Oak Elementary on Thursday afternoons.

    (Instrument rental from local music stores.)

  • Peer Leaders

    Peer Leaders work to develop their leadership skills and complete service projects for the school. Applications are done at the end of the 4th grade year and require teacher evaluations.

  • Robotics Team

    The Robotics team works to compete with the First Lego League Mindstorm robots.  The team will represent our school starting at the district level and facilitate the Mindstorm learning for the robotics club that meets during the 2nd half of the school year.

    We follow the Atlanta Track Club Kilometer Kids curriclum and share in their mission to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, emporweing children with the knowledge they need to make smart lifestyle choices.

  • Safety Patrol

    Grades 4 -5 only

    Safety Patrol work during afternoon bus call to help students to get to the bus safely. Students serve in a nine week rotation. 

    Applications are done at the end of the 4th grade year. Should a student not complete an application, they may see Ms. Wilson to inquire if any spots are available. 

  • White Oak Band

    Club Sponsor:  Seth Kuehn

    Date and Time:  7:00-7:45 AM and 2:45-3:10 PM

    Grades 4 -5 only

    Fee:  Free to participate. Instrument rental is required. 

    Band offers students an opportunity to perform on such instruments as: sax, flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone and percussion.

  • Young Rembrandts

    Fee:  $170 for 15 week session. All supplies included. 

    Drawing Classes for Kids led by Young Rembrandts.  Parents are responsible for transportation at class end.
