I worked in the medical field for 13 years as a phlebotomist and a medical assistant in pediatrics, so I've always loved working with children. I decided to work in the school environment, finish earning my teaching degree to teach kindergarten.

I am a lifelong Georgia girl. I grew up in Canton, GA, attended college at the University of Georgia, and began my teaching career here in Gwinnett County. I have always been a special education teacher. I have worked in the Interrelated Resource Program and with various levels of the autism program. I truly love my job, my students and their families. My career has brought many blessings into my life. I am also a mother to two wonderful young boys, Robby and Braxton, and have an amazing husband, Bill. I am very excited that Robby and I got to start our journey at Trip together this year. In my spare time, I like to scrapbook, make deco mesh wreaths, cook, read, plan parties and pin a million projects I will never have the time to make on Pinterest. My favorite place to relax is at the beach. I look forward to many exciting adventures as a Trip Ram!

I have had the joy of teaching and learning from students with autism in Gwinnett County since 2001. I earned a M.Ed with a concentration in autism from UGA, and in the midst of that had my beautiful daughter Corinne, who has Down Syndrome. Being both a teacher and a parent, I care deeply about helping my students achieve their individual best and teaching them all the skills they need to have a full and happy life. Corinne is now at Grayson High School, and her beloved big brother David is at Emory, fortunately not too far away. My husband Tony and our crazy cat Buttercup complete the family. We love hanging out together, eating out, and roadtripping to visit family in South Carolina and Florida.
