    About the Media Center

The Media Center has books and magazines for assigned study and recreational reading. It is open for use during the entire school day.

Students are encouraged to use the media center for reference work and for selecting books to read. There are special rules for reference books, magazines, and reserved books. The media specialist is always available to assist those who need help. Students are responsible for replacement of lost or damaged library books and media materials. Failure to fulfill this responsibility will result in report cards not being released to students and parents.

Media Center Check-out

    • Students in Kindergarten and First grades can check out one book.
    • Students in Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth grades can check out two books.
    • Students can check-out books for two weeks.
    • If a book is lost or damaged, there is a fine to replace the book.  Hardback books have a $15.00 replacement cost.  Paperback books have a $5.00 replacement cost.

  •  Ms.Tankerlsey Hello everyone! My name is Chessie Tankersley. This is my second year as the Media Specialist at Shiloh Elementary School. My goal as a media specialist is to help foster a warm and welcoming environment in the Media Center which encourages students to explore the many resources we have available. As a Media Specials teacher, I work to provide clear and engaging lessons which teach the specific Media and Technology curriculum as well as support the students' learning across the grade level curriculum. I am excited to see everyone's faces and have many conversations about what you are reading.
