  • Reading or Drawing with Authors and Illustrators

    Mo Willems will draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing daily at 1 PM. Previous episodes are available if you click on the arrows at the right and left of the page.

    Oliver Jeffers author of Stuck and illustrator of The Day the Crayons Quit will have live readings at 2 PM on Instagram.

    Mac Barnett author of Sam and Dave Dig a Hole will have live readings at 3 PM on Instagram. Readings of each chapter are saved in his Instagram posts.


    Jarrett Krosoczka will be posting a drawing lesson daily at 2 PM and videos will also be saved on his YouTube channel.

    Ben Clanton author of the Narwhal and Jelly series is posting “Squiggles and Scribbles” videos on his Facebook page.

    Carson Ellis Du Iz Tak? Will post a different art club assignment on her blog and Instagram page each day.  

    Josh Funk author of Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast will have a Facebook and Instagram (joshfunkbooks) Saturday Livestream Storytime at 11 AM.

    Debbie Ridpath Ohi author and Illustrator of I’m Bored is will host drawing sessions on her YouTube channel. There are also links to cover-to-cover picture book read-alouds that will be available until June.

    ​Daniel Miyares author and illustrator Surf’s Up and Float will take your drawings to the next level on his YouTube channel.

    Tony DiTerlizzi is hosting Drawn to Fantasy live on weekdays at 3:00 PM and shows the entire drawing process from sketch to Photoshop finishing. There are also videos of him reading some of his books such as Wondla,

    Jess Keating is an author and illustrator of Pink is for Blobfish: Discovering the World's Perfectly Pink Animals (she is also a zoologist) has a YouTube channel filled with fun writing ideas.

    Kate Messner author of The Ranger in Time series shares read aloud from herself and other authors, often including short lessons.

    Sophie Blackall author of the Ivy and Bean series reads her an Ivy and Bean and other books aloud on YouTube.

    Ame Dyckman author and of Misunderstood Shark and Wolfie will read her book You Don’t Want A Unicorn on YouTube.

    Brooklyn Public Library will be doing live streaming, which will include stories, songs, and tips for early learning at 2pm for all ages. They also host a virtual bedtime story hour at 7pm and 7:30pm.

    Huron Public Library goes live on their Facebook page Monday-Friday at 1pm EST reading much-loved books that kids of all ages will enjoy.
