Mr. Devon Williams

Principal

Mr. Williams grew up in the Metro Atlanta area, attending school in Dekalb County, where he graduated from Chamblee High School in 1988. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Photographic Design and Art Education from the University of Georgia, and began teaching Art at Sweetwater Middle School in GCPS straight out of college. Although Mr. Williams enjoyed teaching Art, he was introduced to a relatively new class, Technology Education, and he was excited to switch directions. He immediately entered UGA’s Technology Education program, earning his Master of Education degree in 1997. In 1996, Mr. Williams had the opportunity to join the inaugural staff of J.P. McConnell Middle School as the Technology Education teacher. He spent the next eleven years at MMS, first as a teacher, then ultimately being promoted to an Assistant Principal position. In 2004, Mr. Williams earned his Specialist of Education degree, majoring in Occupational Studies (Technology Education) and minoring in Educational Leadership. In 2006, Mr. Williams was selected to lead Shiloh Middle School as Principal. After three years as Shiloh’s Principal, he was selected to open Couch Middle School in 2009. This was his proudest moment as an educator and leader, and he was humbled by the opportunity to embark on this new journey.

Mr. Williams is a proud husband, father, son, and brother! He is an avid Georgia Bulldog fan!
