Mrs. Cappy Douglass

Principal 

After serving as a Protective Service Social Worker for 10 years for the State of Connecticut, Mrs. Douglass decided to serve and support children as an educator. Mrs. Douglass has been an educator for 21 years, ten of which she worked as a high school social studies teacher, one as a 7th-grade teacher, five as an AP, and five years as a principal.  

Mrs. Douglass earned her BA from Post University, an M.Ed from the University of Bridgeport, and an Ed.S from Georgia State University. Mrs. Douglass has two brilliant and beautiful daughters and three intelligent, energetic, and powerful grandsons.

Mrs. Douglass firmly believes that all children have the capacity to excel, and she loves creating opportunities for students to dream big and maximize their greatest potential.

Mrs. Kim Yarini

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Yarini has been in education for 22 years teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels. Mrs. Yarini graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from North Georgia College and State University and later earned a Master of Science degree in Middle Grades Math and Science from Brenau University and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Valdosta State University. Mrs. Yarini is certified to teach elementary, middle school math and science, high school math, and special education. She began to serve in Gwinnett County Public Schools in 2006 as a classroom teacher and has also served multiple schools as an instructional coach. Mrs. Yarini has been an assistant principal at Couch Middle for the last three years.  She enjoys spending time with her family and raising her three awesome boys, ages 26, 20, and 18 as well as twin grandsons. Mrs. Yarini also loves all things Disney, running, and tennis.

Ms. Jasmine McIntosh

Assistant Principal

Ms. McIntosh was raised in Camden County, Georgia. She has completed nine years in education at the middle school level. Ms. McIntosh graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southern University and later returned to Georgia Southern to obtain a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Accomplished Teaching. She earned a Specialist Degree in Teacher Leadership from Mercer University. Ms. McIntosh is certified to teach grades 4-8 English Language Arts. She began her career at Gwinnett County Public Schools in 2016 as a seventh grade English Language Arts teacher. Ms. McIntosh is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She loves spending time with family, trying new food, and traveling with family and friends.

Mrs. Christy Stephenson

Assistant Principal

As a student and graduate of Gwinnett County, Mrs. Stephenson has worked for GCPS for 24 years. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in English Education from the University of Georgia in 1998. She then obtained a Master's Degree in English Education and later a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction both from Piedmont College. Mrs. Stephenson has worked in several middle schools throughout the county and was a charter Couch Middle School staff member when its doors opened in 2009. She first taught 8th grade language arts during the first three years of the school's inception and then moved into the position as an administrator in 2013. The Stephenson family has been an active member in the Grayson community for years. Both of her daughters matriculated through the Grayson cluster schools.  Her oldest daughter graduated from Grayson High School in 2019 and is attending the University of Georgia, her youngest daughter is beginning 10th grade.  Mrs. Stephenson's favorite thing about Couch...."The students and families that we support!"
