Ram Reading Challenge

  •  CMS Ram Reading Challenge

We are excited to announce that the Gwinnett County Public Schools Bookmobile will visit Couch on Thursday, May 6.  Qualifying students will get to select a free book to take home!  To qualify for the Bookmobile event, students must complete the Ram Reading Challenge for semester two by Monday, April 26.  Here are the requirements:

    Sixth and Seventh Grade Requirements

    • Read three books.
    • Write a review on each of those three books in Biblionasium.  Students can access Biblionasium through the Couch Media Catalog.

If students need help using Biblionasium, they can watch this video.  Here is an image of the screen that pops up when students click the “Review It” tab on a book.

Review Requirements for sixth and seventh grade:

Use complete sentences to write a paragraph of at least four sentences in length. Be sure to include a brief summary of the book, without giving away the ending! Then give your opinion of the book.  Biblionasium gives you some suggested questions to get you started (see screenshot above).  You may choose to answer any of the suggested questions, or you may choose from the additional questions below.  Your review must answer at least three questions.

    1. Who is your favorite character and why?
    2. What was your favorite scene and why?  (But don't tell about any scenes near the end!)
    3. What did you like (or dislike) most about this book?

Remember, don’t give away the ending; you don’t want to spoil it for others who might want to read the book!

    Eighth Grade Requirements

Eighth graders will use the format provided by their language arts teacher to document their reading and write two book reports.  The first book report should be about a historical fiction book.
