From: 3:15PM - 6:00PMStep or step-dancing is a form of percussive dance in which the participant's entire body is used as an instrument to produce complex rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. Step incorporates movements in personal space or general space in response to designated beats or rhythms.
Students who participate in step will:
- demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
- Differentiate between fast and slow speeds
- demonstrate attentiveness, full participation, and cooperation with others in the dance learning and performance environment.
