Summer School Options

  • New for Summer School 2022:

    GCPS will pay for up to two summer school classes for high school students needing to retake a class they previously failed. The district is offering this option to students at no cost to address COVID-related learning gaps and to provide students with an additional opportunity to earn credit for courses failed this year. See below for all opportunities.


Grayson High School

  • Grayson High School will offer summer school course options locally this summer.  Students can take up to two courses that they previously failed.  Please see below for details.

    • S1 and S2 courses will be held June 13 - July 7, 2022.  June 20th and July 4th are holidays.
    • Credit Recovery courses (those failed with a grade of 50 - 69) will be held June 13 - 17, 2022.
    • Students can select up to two previously failed courses to complete this summer: one course for the AM session (7:00 - 11:00 a.m.) and/or one course for the PM Session (11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.). 
    • All courses will be delivered face-to-face, including the Credit Recovery courses.
    • Credit Recovery courses must be completed in person by June 17, 2022.  Note that Credit Recovery courses are not approved by the NCAA.
    • Transportation is not provided.
    • If you do not see a course that you need in the list of available courses below, other summer school options are available at Archer High School, Berkmar High School, Lanier High School, and Gwinnett Online Campus. To learn more, visit https://www.gcpsk12.org/SummerSchool.
    • Students are required to attend class for a minimum of 16 days. If a student misses one day of summer school, he/she will be dropped from classes.
    • Space is limited in each of the courses, so register ASAP.  The registration deadline is May 27, 2022.

Face to Face

  • Gwinnett County Public Schools' Face-to-Face High School Summer School is a fee-based program that allows students to take courses to get ahead or to make-up a class previously failed.  Courses are available to all high school students, including selected courses for rising 9th graders. Face-to-Face high school locations are Archer High SchoolBerkmar High School, and Lanier  High School.

    Registration opens: April 1, 2022

    Registration closes: May 27, 2022

    Summer school dates: June 13 - July 7 (June 20 and July 4 are holidays.)


Gwinnett Online Campus

  • Online summer school classes will be offered through Gwinnett Online Campus. Courses are available to all high school students, including selected courses for rising 9th graders. Note: Students will be invited to an optional virtual orientation on the first day of class, June 6. All courses will require a face-to-face final exam at our GOC campus, located at 713 Hi Hope Road in Lawrenceville. Face-to-face final exams for Health and PE will be held June 28-30 at GOC.
