Dr. Lior M. Burko

Dr. Burko received his Ph.D in Physics at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. After postdoctoral positions at the California Institute of Technology and at the University of Utah, Dr. Burko held professorial positions at Bates College (Maine), The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama A&M University, and Georgia Gwinnett College, in addition to CNRS and Université d'Orlèans in France. Dr. Burko's research focuses on gravitational physics, specifically black holes and gravitational waves, and on Physics Educaton research. As STEM Resident at Peachtree Ridge High School Dr. Burko is working on transfering his 20+ years of college and university teaching experience to the high school environment, and is looking forward to teaching! 

When not teaching or researching black holes, being certified as a dance teacher by the National Dance Teacher Association of America, Dr. Burko enjoys ballroom, salsa, tango, and swing dancing, and is working with the dance club at the school.
