Mr. William Young
Mr. Young is a physics teacher at Peachtree Ridge high school. He is beginning his 19th year in education, but the first at Peachtree Ridge.
During his career, he has taught a verity of science curricula including biology, environmental science, chemistry, physics, zoology, human anatomy and is AP certified in biology and environmental science. Even though he is somewhat shy and introverted, he loves to interact with his students and help them understand the amazing world we live in. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Young loves watching soccer and football. His favorite teams are the Clemson Tigers, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC and Tottenham Hotspur from the EPL. When he is not spending time with his family, he enjoys reading or playing with his Mastiffs, Beowoof and Daenerys.
Mr. Young received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Clemson University. Upon graduation, he decided to put off the real world for a little longer and remained in Clemson. He earned a Master of Science in Zoology, emphasis in Aquatic Ecology 2 years later. He spent a short time working in an environmental testing laboratory before deciding to dedicate his life to teaching. He earned his teaching certification through the University of Georgia. Mr. Young recently received a Specialist degree in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University. He loves helping his students and fellow teachers use technology in new ways to enrich the classroom.
Mr. Young looks forward to this school year. He can’t wait to get to know every single student and help them to achieve in science. This will be a great semester and he hopes you will enjoy the year as much as he will.
