We meet once each month (on a Tuesday) after school from 4:30-6 starting in September, and if your application is accepted there is a $20 art fee for the year to help provide all the supplies we will need for our projects.

When pleasant aromas waft down the hallways throughout the building, you know Culinary Arts Club is in session. An enthusiastic, energetic, and certainly eclectic club, we cook up a storm every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month starting September 8, 2022 . With a passion for taste, presentation and, of course – eating, every member contributes to each decadent and delightful, palate-pleasing recipe. We have partnered with many WONDERFUL organizations to prepare heartfelt meals for and serve - come see what we’ve got cooking!

The MMS eSports Club is a new club that is being introduced this year. Students will be organized into teams that will train and practice video games together to develop social skills, communication, and strategic planning. The teams will compete against each other locally and regionally. The primary games that will be played in the club will be League of Legends and Rocket League. There will be a $50 fee to participate in the club to pay for jerseys, events, and equipment.

Fan Bus/Cheer Buddies

"Fan Bus" is an opportunity for MMS students to be taken to cheer and support the HOME Girls and Boys Basketball games played after school at Archer HS.  The students must be in good behavior standing, prepay for all games in advance, and follow all Fan Bus rules to have transportation provided and entrance to the games.  

The purpose is to promote and uphold school spirit, to involve the crowd in cheering, and to set examples of school supportive and respectful behavior and appreciation for sports played by peers.  

"CHEER BUDDIES" is a cheer/sport opportunity for MMS students in the separate classroom settings to cheer and support ONE HOME Girls and Boys Basketball game played after school at Archer HS.  The students will work with the MMS Cheer Staff and MMS Cheerleaders in preparation for and during the event. 

The purpose is to promote and uphold school spirit, to involve students of varying abilities in the opportunity to cheer, and to build social skills with their peers.

The origins of ADL’s anti-bias programs date back to 1985, when ADL and WCVB-TV in Boston initiated the A World of Difference® campaign, a series of education and media-driven programs designed to combat prejudice and create effective tools to address these issues in the classroom and community. The campaign's immense success led to ongoing programs across the country and several national awards including a Peabody, Gabriel and Scripps-Howard.

Open to all MMS students and teachers who would like to be licensed radio operators.  Activities include training to become FCC licensed, radio protocol and etiquette practice, emergency services support training (ARES & SkyWarn), and participation in ham radio competitions. Relay for Life Team

Relay for Life is a unique, fun way to raise money for the American Cancer Society while increasing cancer awareness in the Gwinnett Community. Activities include: Dressed Down for a Cause, Link Together for a Cure, Candy Cane Grams, Talent Show, Hearts, Silent Auction, Mini-Relay, as well as other fundraising events.  The County Relay Event is at the Fairgrounds in May.  Relay for Life is open to all MMS Students and teachers.

The McConnell Robotics Club is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders interested in learning to design, build and program EV3 and Lego NXT robots. The team may possibly compete in an event with other middle schools. Meetings on Thursdays at 8:00 am.

The Tabletop Gaming Club is open to all students who like playing RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons, Mystic, and Champions. We will also be hosting space for players of Cards games such as Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh as well as teaching those who have little or no experience. These are tabletop games where the players use their imagination to form a simulated adventure, develop problem solving skills with friends. No prior experience is required.
