Vision
The vision of our media center is to create a community of life-long learners who are prepared for the future through their love of reading, learning, problem solving and collaboration.
Mission
The mission of our media center is to provide resources to meet academic needs, to promote enthusiasm and enjoyment of reading, and to support the curriculum through literature, research and collaboration.
Hours
The media center is open for students from 8:20 am to 2:30 pm daily. Students may visit in small groups with their teacher's permission. Teachers may also schedule whole class visits with the media specialist.
Checkouts
Students in kindergarten and first grade may check out 1 book for two weeks. Most classes visit the media center weekly. Students in second grade through fifth grade may check out 2 books for two weeks. Exceptions can be made with teacher/media specialist permission.
Overdue books and lost books
If a student has an overdue book, they must return that book before further checkout. If a student has lost a book, the cost is $15 for a hardback book and $5 for a paperback book.
Covid-19 Update
To ensure the safety of students and staff, we are allowing only one class at a time to visit the media center. Social distancing, sanitizing of hands and returned book quarantines are some of the practices that are in place during this time. Students may choose books from those displayed on tables and tops of shelving, place holds on books or ask library staff for assistance to be able to check out their book choice. Digital students may also take advantage of placing books on hold. Curbside pickup is available on Tuesdays from 11 am to 12 pm and on Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Please email or call Mrs. Cruce if you have any questions or need any assistance!
