Principal's Message
It is truly an honor to serve as the Principal of Snellville Middle School. As the first middle school in Gwinnett County, Snellville Middle has served the South Gwinnett community for 50 years preparing thousands of students to reach their full academic potential.
The Snellville Middle staff pursues excellence in education and is committed to providing high quality instruction and an academically challenging environment for our students. Fostering and promoting student leadership, responsibility and preparedness are cornerstones of our school’s culture. Our student leadership programs of Peer Leaders, Comet Buddies and the Junior Leadership Corps are a few examples of ways that we inspire to teach our students success through self-responsibility, productive citizenship, community service and innovative thinking and problem solving. The students in our leadership programs have won numerous awards and recognitions throughout the district and the state.
Collaboration with parents and our community are chief components to our students’ success and we believe that parental involvement is key to our students reaching their academic potential throughout the middle school years and beyond. We encourage our parents to become active in our school community and participate in our parent volunteer program coordinated through our school’s Parent Center.
We continually seek ways to provide our students with opportunities that will challenge their thinking, inspire their learning and prepare them with the knowledge and skills necessary for college, career and life readiness.
We thank you for entrusting us with educating your child and look forward to another successful school year.
Sincerely,
Katise Taylor
Principal
