Art Club
ART CLUB Grades 2 – 5

The Art Club will provide students with
opportunities to improve their artistic skills and
abilities. -
Beta Club
BETA CLUB Grades 4 - 5
• Sponsor: Mrs. Julio and Ms. Mayfield
• Location: Magill Elementary
• Date: TBA- Starting October 1st.
• Time: 3:50- 5:30**INVITATION ONLY
National Beta Club is an organization that began in 1934
under the leadership of John W. Harris. Since its
inception, Beta Club has introduced a standard of
service to others with its motto being "Let Us Lead By
Serving Others." Not only is the organization focused on
service, but it is focused on developing leaders of
tomorrow through academia and leadership driven
ideals. -
Chess Adventures
CHESS ADVENTURES Grades K - 5
• Sponsor: Mrs. Williams
• Location: Media Center
• Date: Every Tuesday starting mid-September
• Time: 4:00 pm-5:00pm
Chess Adventures was developed to explore the fun
side of chess. Scientific facts prove chess helps
develop mental stimulation and increases brain
power. Chess Adventures focuses on bringing the
fun aspect of the game to children keeping them
wanting to learn. -
Chorus
Magill Chorus Grade 4 - 5
• Sponsor: Mr. Patman
• Location: Music Room
• Date: Tuesdays starting October 1st
• Time: 3:50-5:00 pmThe Magill Chorus will provide students
opportunities to improve their musical skills and
abilities.
Auditions will be held on September 19, 20, 23 and
24 from 8:00 am- 8:40 am.*Audition Required Audition Song: Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee.

Comet Leaders
COMET LEADERS Grade 4 - 5

• Location: School Store/ Students Council

• Time: 8:20 am- 8:45 am/ 3:15- 3:45The Comet Leaders Club was developed to build
Leadership qualities and characteristics through active
participation with the Comet School Store and Safety
Patrol and Student Council. -
Comet News Crew
COMET NEWS CREW (CNC) Grade 5
• Sponsor: Ms. Minter
• Location: Media Center
• Date: Daily
• Time: 8:20 am- 8:55 am
The Comet News Crew is an exciting morning broadcast
show produced by our 5th grade students. As a member
of CNC, students will have the opportunity to
participate in on-air positions and technical positions
such as the Teleprompter operator, video mixer, and the
audio mixer. We will also take a trip to the CNN Center.
Teacher recommendation and parent permission are
both required. -
Cooking and Crafting Galore
Cooking and Crafting Galore Grades K - 2

Magill’s C & C Galore focuses on teaching
beginning learners in grades K-2 to actively engage
and explore their creativity. Students will create
seasonal treats and make one of a kind crafts. -
Crafting Club

Magill’s Craft Club will provide students with
opportunities to create unique art/ crafts using a
variety of mediums. -
Elite Comet Steppers
ELITE COMET STEPPERS Grades 3 - 5
• Sponsor: Mrs. T. Jones & Mrs. Keenum
• Location: First Gym
• Date: Every Wednesday
• Time: 7:30am – 8:20amThe mission of this club is to promote unity through the
use of step and dancing to enhance teamwork and
increase student leadership. Students will learn rhythm,
movement, beat and the skill of coordination within step
and dance routines. Students will have opportunities to
participate in various performances throughout the year

Girls On The Run
GIRLS ON THE RUN Grades 3 – 5
• Sponsor: Mrs. Julio, Mrs. Williams
• Location: First Gym
• Date: Beginning in SPRING
**Parent Meeting and Online Registration Required.
Look for advertisement of meeting in December.
Girls on the Run is a North American non-profit
program that works to encourage pre-teen girls to
develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through
dynamic, interactive lessons and running games,
culminating in a celebratory 5k run in the spring of
2020. -
Good News Club
Good News Club Grades 2 - 5
Sponsor: Joseph Caufman & Brenda Harris
Location: Cafeteria
Date: The Good News Club will begin at Magill on January 21st and will run for 10 weeks on Tuesdays
Time: 3:20 - 5:00
Registration will mostly be online, but some paper forms will be available if anyone needs them.
Cost is free to students. -
Intermural League
INTERMURAL LEAGUE Grades 3 - 5
• Sponsor: Coach Brooks, Mr. Quarterman and Mr. B
• Location: First Gym
• Date: every other Thursday
• Time: 7:30 am – 8:20 am
The Magill Intermural League was developed to
prepare students academically and socially for a
lifetime of physical fitness and sportsmanship.
Students will participate in organized sports and
learn strategies in basketball, soccer, kickball, flag
football, volleyball and ultimate frisbee. -
Lego League
FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (COSMIC COMETS) Grades 4 - 5
• Sponsor: Mrs. Johnson
• Location: Magill Elementary
• Date: every Tuesday beginning September 17th.
• Time: 3:50-5:00
Club Name: First Lego League Cosmic Comets
First Lego League teams research a real-world problem
and are challenged to develop a solution. They must
also design, build, and program a robot using Lego
Mindstorms technology. Then complete on a table-top
playing field. This club teaches students to apply
science, technology, engineering, and math concepts,
plus imagination, to solve a problem. -
Page Turners
PAGE TURNERS Grade 4 - 5
• Sponsor: Ms. Minter
• Location: Media Center
• Date: Every Thursday starting October 3rd
• Time: During 4th and 5th grade Lunch
The Page Turners Club will meet to promote reading,
discuss books and prepare for Readers Rally
competition for the 2019-2020 school year. Students
must have parent permission to participate. -
Robocomets
ROBOCOMETS Grades 3 - 5
• Sponsors: Mr. Sena and Mr. Cedarburg, Mrs. Benfield
• Location: Media Center
• Date: 2-3 Wednesdays a month starting Oct. 9th

RoboComets is dedicated to expanding access to
Computer Science to students in grades 3-5.
Students will develop creativity and real-world
problem solving skills while completing robotic
and coding challenges and build meaningful
relationships with their peers.
