“During digital learning, Gwinnett County School Counselors will continue supporting students' academic success, career development, and social-emotional growth, utilizing Zoom and Google Meet for individual meetings, conferences, presentations, groups, and classroom lessons/activities.”

The Counseling Department is here to support our students. We offer many initiatives to help our students be the best that they can be for our school, our community, and themselves. Some of the initiatives currently in place are the Student of the Month, and Safety Patrol. We also have other programs and services that are available to our students based on an individual need-by-need basis. Our counselors work hard to provide the time our students need, whether in individual, small group, or large group settings to discuss and encourage social and emotional health.
In addition, we like to get our community involved with our students! If you are interested in participating in our annual Career Days, please contact us!

This is my second year as a school counselor, and I am so excited to be joining the Magill family! Last May I graduated from UGA with my Master's of Education and Educational Specialist degrees in Professional School Counseling.
I love being a counselor because I love having opportunities to build strong relationships with students and families and supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of every student. Please let me know how I can best support your student!

Ms. Mayfield
I am so excited to work with the students at Magill Elementary. I currently serve 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. I am a product of the Gwinnett County Public School System. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College and a Master of Science and Specialist in Education from Florida State University. I have ten years of counseling experience with children and teenagers. I have been working in Gwinnett County as an elementary school counselor for seven years. I truly enjoy working with the students and their families and ensuring that their social-emotional needs are met, so students can focus on their academic success. GO COMETS!
