Accountability and Assessment
The Department of Accountability and Assessment provides leadership in the implementation of a balanced assessment system, utilizing national, state, and district assessments. Assessment is an integral part of the curriculum and instruction framework, wherein feedback on student progress toward mastery of the AKS is gained.
Office of Accountability - Scott Wilbanks, Director
The Office of Accountability oversees state accountability and the district assessment platform. The Office supports schools with state accountability, trains leadership regarding College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI), and assists with data interpretation for state, national, and district assessments. The Office maintains the daily operations of the assessment platform for both district and teacher created assessments, while providing professional learning opportunities for teachers and school and district leadership teams.
Office of District Assessments - Karyn Tircuit, Director
Oversees and supports development of District Assessments, provides professional learning for teachers for test development and how to understand the assessment data for instructional , local school administrators and district leaders
Office of State and National Assessments - Cyndi Smith, Director
Oversees and supports standardized assessments mandated by the State of Georgia Department of Education as well as Universal Screeners, and national tests required by the GCPS Board of Education. This includes supporting local schools with training and tools necessary to administer the assessments in a secure and standard manner.
Office of Post Secondary Readiness - Elizabeth Blackmon, Director
Oversees and supports the Gwinnett Writes Assessment, including providing writing assessment resources and professional learning for teachers and managing the administration, scoring, and reporting of the annual main administration.
