CCRPI Parent Guide

What is CCRPI?

The College and Career Ready Performance Index – CCRPI – is Georgia’s state accountability tool for annually measuring public schools and districts throughout the state. The state’s purpose for CCRPI is to provide a comprehensive accountability model and communication platform for all stakeholders in the state of Georgia.

What Can I Learn from CCRPI?

CCRPI is comprised of 4 main categories with a 5th category of graduation rate included for high schools.

The Content Mastery category provides families with an answer to the question of: Are students achieving at the level necessary to be prepared for the next grade, college, or career?  This area focuses on measuring achievement in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies through the Georgia Milestones Assessment System, including the Georgia Alternate Assessment.

The Progress category offers families insights into: How much growth are students demonstrating relative to academically- similar students?  This area focuses on how much students grow in their English language arts and mathematics knowledge compared to similar students across the state.

The Closing Gaps category addresses the question: Are all students and all student groups making improvements in achievement rates?  This area focuses on measuring the extent to which all students and all student groups are meeting annual achievement improvement targets.

Finally, the Readiness category provides information on whether students are participating in activities preparing them for and demonstrating readiness for the next level, college, or career.  This area focuses on literacy, student attendance, and learning beyond core subjects for elementary and middle schools. In high school, there is a focus on literacy and student attendance in addition to accelerated course enrollment, career pathway completion, and demonstration of college and career readiness.

A fifth component – Graduation Rate – exists for high school only and provides families with information on are students graduating from high school with a regular diploma in four or five years.  This area takes into account both four- and five-year adjusted cohort graduation rates.

What are the school climate and financial efficiency star ratings?

School Climate and Financial Efficiency Star Ratings are displayed on the CCRPI reports as informational components but carry no point value for the CCRPI score.

Each school receives a School Climate Star Rating, which is calculated using data from surveys issued to students, personnel, and parents through the Georgia Student Health Survey; Georgia School Personnel Survey; Georgia Parent Survey; along with student discipline data and attendance records for students, teachers, staff and administrators.
